SecurityOfficers must remain calm in emergencies and can balance great guest and associate relations with safety and security. SecurityOfficers shall execute all security operations, emergency response and fire safety operation plans which seek to maintain a safe and secure environment. This plan shall be accomplished by the training and development of securityofficers, who are scheduled to specific security assignment in order to patrol and monitor all company property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES All SecurityOfficers shall be well trained and versed in; (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
The execution of all patrol operations, crisis management, emergency response and fire safety, physical security, information protection, incident management and/or investigation.
They must also work to prevent damage and losses by executing all operations plans and enforcing security and fire safety policies and procedures.
Patrol operations shall consist of, but not limited to, tracked rounds and surveillance of all land, building and property (present and under construction) owned or managed by Jay Peak.
These may include directed patrol of high traffic and incident areas, such as outside the dining facilities (where large numbers of skis are left during the day and early evening hours) and in the liquor licensed areas (bars, restaurants and convenience store).
Crisis management/emergency response, incident reporting, management and investigation shall consist of, but not limited to, response to injured employees and guests for proper first aid, CPR or AED treatment.
Motor vehicle accidents, incidents of criminal nature or Jay Peak guest conduct (such as theft, vandalism, assaults, smoke/fire/protection alarms, noise disturbances, animal complaints, open fires, and intoxicated persons or employees).
Daily fire safety inspections designed to meet State of Vermont requirements.
Use good judgment in awkward situations, knowing when to consult with management before moving forward.
Be prepared to speak with knowledge to the amenities that the resort and our local communities have to offer.
Assist guests in many ways, to include but not limited to:
Carrying luggage (sometimes up numerous flights of stairs in various weather)
Snow removal (or coordination of) to assist guests who might be stuck
Delivery of items to guests (cots, etc.).

Responsibilities
Perform routine patrols of the hotel grounds, parking areas, and all exterior corridors and entrances to ensure guest safety and property protection.
Respond swiftly and professionally to any disturbances, alarms, or guest complaints. Document and report incidents to management in a timely manner.
Monitor guest and visitor activity throughout the property to ensure only registered guests and authorized personnel are present.
Inspect doors, locks, lighting, and other security features for proper function; report and document maintenance or safety concerns.
Act as the primary overnight contact for fire alarms, medical emergencies, and other incidents, following hotel emergency protocols.
Assist with late check-ins, early departures, and guest inquiries using Infor HMS to register guests, modify reservations, and process payments.
Maintain detailed overnight activity and incident logs for review by management.
Keep the front desk and lobby area tidy, organized, and welcoming throughout the night.
Qualifications
Working knowledge of Infor HMS or similar hotel property management systems.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain calm and professional in emergencies.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions during patrols.
Physically able to walk or stand for extended periods and perform light maintenance or safety checks as needed.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Per-Diem Officer Requirements:

Work hours are not guaranteed and can vary significantly. You may be asked to cover a full week during staff absences, or go several days without being scheduled
Summer months tend to offer more hours, while winter availability may decrease due to fewer vacation requests
NEW increased hourly wage, based on experience. In addition to the hourly rate of pay, there is a $1.60 to $7.60 differential depending on shift.

This position calls for someone who has some experience in Security, preferably in a healthcare setting, and has flexibility to fulfill hours, as needed, by the team. The per diem SecurityOfficer covers both planned absences (staff vacation, holiday) and unanticipated absences. Ideal candidates are those looking to continue to be of service in a healthcare/hospital setting. Successful per diem SecurityOfficers are those seeking to augment a part time work schedule, or students who can pick up shifts around class schedules (or on school breaks), or full/partial retirees who would like to continue to work when the opportunity aligns with their schedule.
Each SecurityOfficer is assigned to a specific UVM Medical Center campus. The primary responsibilities of the SecurityOfficer are to conduct patrol duties, respond immediately to calls for assistance, and document services provided on each shift.
