Your Role as a Protector:

Officers carry out these responsibilities by: patrolling an assigned area; responding to emergency calls; resolving conflicts; engaging in community policing and community relations, investigating crimes; rendering medical assistance; writing reports (using, software, computers, portable technology devices, and mobile data computers); handling crises or stressful situations, which may involve juveniles, the elderly, or the disabled; testifying in court; and enforcing Florida State laws and City Ordinances. This is generalized law enforcement and public safety work in the prevention of crime, protection of life and property, and apprehension of criminal offenders.
An employee in this class of work is responsible for performing tasks of more than average difficulty involving the protection of life and property. After completion of an initial training period, the employee is responsible for enforcing federal, state and local laws, and performing related police activities. Incumbents are involved in either patrolling an assigned area in a radio-equipped vehicle, or performing administrative, communications, public information and/or complaint duties. Holidays:

Employees may bank all or a portion of their hours to Annual Leave Accrual Bank.
Annual Leave:
Annual leave may be taken as earned. Maximum accumulation each fiscal year is 290 hours. At time of resignation or retirement, employee is paid for all annual leave accrued at their current rate of pay. Annual leave is accrued based on continuous, full-time service with the City, as follows:

Annual Leave Cash Out:

Floating Holidays:
Upon completion of (26) weeks of full-time employment with the City, employee shall be entitled to utilize one (1) floating holiday per fiscal year. Floating holiday shall not carry over to the next fiscal year.
Sick Leave:
Each employee earns (96) hours of sick leave annually with no waiting period for use and unlimited accrual. Upon separation of City employment due to resignation, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of twenty-five percent (25%) of the employee's current rate of pay at time of resignation. Upon separation of employment due to retirement, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of fifty percent (50%) of the employee's current rate of pay at the time of retirement.
Sick Day Bonus Plan (Perfect Attendance):
For every three (3) month period (October 1 - December 31; January 1 - March 31; April 1 - June 30; or July 1 - September 30) in which, no sick is utilized, an employee shall receive ten (10) hours of annual leave credited for each three (3) month period (Up to 40 hours annually.)
Bereavement:
Qualifying City-paid Bereavement Leave as follows: • In State = Up to 3 Days • Out of State = Up to 4 Days - Employees on an eight (8) hour schedule may use up to five (5) consecutive work days.

This is generalized law enforcement and public safety work in the prevention of crime, protection of life and property, and apprehension of criminal offenders.
An incumbent in this classification of work is responsible for performing tasks of more than average difficulty involving the protection of life and property. After completion of an initial training period, the employee is responsible for enforcing federal, state and local laws, and performing related police activities. Each employee earns (96) hours of sick leave annually with no waiting period for use and unlimited accrual. Upon separation of City employment due to resignation, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of twenty-five percent (25%) of the employee's current rate of pay at time of resignation. Upon separation of employment due to retirement, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of fifty percent (50%) of the employee's current rate of pay at the time of retirement.
Sick Day Bonus Plan (Perfect Attendance):
For every three (3) month period (October 1 - December 31; January 1 - March 31; April 1 - June 30; or July 1 - September 30) in which, no sick is utilized, an employee shall receive ten (10) hours of annual leave credited for each three (3) month period (Up to 40 hours annually.)

What you will be doing
Is vigilant in observing all areas of the casino and report all procedural infractions and criminal activity to the appropriate person/department.
Maintains cleanliness of workstations and equipment.
Performs close watch duties as assigned.
Maintains familiarity with gaming law, regulations, company policies and procedures.
Receives periodic on-the-job training.
Diligently monitors all company assets as well as monitoring all employees for procedural violations.
Maintains up-to-date working knowledge of procedures and policies for all departments.
Enforces department procedures by observing and reporting any failure to comply with company policy.
Maintains up to the minute, detailed, and accurate logs.
All other duties assigned.
The ideal candidate for this position
Basic computer skills and knowledge.
High speed typing ability.
Ability to work in a high stress environment.
Exceptional multitasking abilities.
Ability to write detailed and accurate reports.
Good eye-to-hand coordination.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Hearing ability required allowing monitoring of multiple radio broadcasts with or without utilizing headsets.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Working knowledge of, and the ability to operate, various base station and handheld radios.
Must work effectively in a team environment.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Due to confidentiality of position must sign, read and understand an agreement pertaining to consequences of not adhering to department internal controls and state regulations.
Must work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.
Must apply and obtain the appropriate state occupational gaming license, which includes lifetime FBI criminal background check.
Must pass drug testing as per company's Drug Free Workplace Policy and applicable background checks.
Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
