The police department provides full police services to the community, including community policing, traffic and criminal law enforcement, emergency response, investigations and special events. The department serves a public of approximately 2,500 permanent residents and a summer population that swells to over 25,000 residents, visitors and summer guests.
Major Duties:
A. Patrols streets in a police car or on foot; checks doors and windows; examines premises of unoccupied residences or buildings; detects unusual conditions, may maintain surveillance and observation for stolen cars, missing persons, or suspects; report dangerous or defective streets, sidewalks, traffic lights, or other hazardous conditions.

This is a part time/reserve position that works on an as needed basis and does not receive any benefits. Performs protective service work in the areas of security and safety at the County Airport, and related work as apparent or assigned. What You'll Do:
Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies at the location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access within the manufacturing and industrial environment.
Observe and report any irregularities, including property damage, equipment malfunctions, or unusual occurrences, to the appropriate personnel.
Assist in emergency response activities as needed, following established procedures for the location.
Maintain detailed and accurate logs of activities, incidents, and/or observations during assigned shifts.
Minimum Requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
