Under limited supervision, the Security Officer provides security and protection of work site(s), personnel and assets at the assigned job site. Enforces safety and security measures, performs regular vehicular and foot patrols of assigned premises, performs traffic and access control duties, and responds to incidents based on established operational procedures.
This position is located in a remote camp on the North Slope of Alaska with a rotational schedule of 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, 12-hour shifts. Lodging, meals and transportation between Anchorage and the jobsite are covered by the company.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Handle security issues or emergency situations appropriately, timely, and effectively under stressful conditions.
* Escalate situations to appropriate parties and file incident reports.
* Maintain a working knowledge of field security operations, and patrol models.
* Maintain a working knowledge of non-security operations, such as HSE, maintenance, project activities, and work permitting process.
* Maintain information security with confidentiality.
* Must comply with established dress code/uniform requirements.
* Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The employee will be required to live and work in a remote and confined workspace for extended periods of time and exposure to work assignments consisting of twelve-hour days and able to workday or night shifts as required. There may be a lack of immediate access to critical medical services as well as urban community services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Security

Conduct visual surveillance for extended periods of time. Observe, recall, and distinguish characteristics of persons, suspects, automobiles, location, property, etc. to include colors, shapes, sizes, height, weight, abnormalities, changes or differences since last observed, and other distinguishing characteristics
Perform TSA screening of passengers boarding outbound jet aircraft
From a variety of body positions, load, unload, aim and fire handguns, shotguns and other agency firearms under conditions of stress that justify the use of deadly force and at levels of proficiency prescribed in certification standards
Vehicle Operations
Safely operate large passenger buses with airbrakes, pickup trucks, vans, or other assigned vehicles in remote settings and in hazardous road conditions caused by factors such as rain, snow, sleet, ice, fog, smoke, and dirt roads
Drive long distances in often changing climate conditions transporting passengers, patrolling are of responsibility, surveillance of well pads and pipeline, and performing other tasks as assigned
Transport personnel to and from various destinations as requested; May lift luggage, freight and personal belongings to and from vehicles, and assist passengers in and out of the vehicle
Fill out daily vehicle maintenance checklist and perform daily preventative maintenance checks
Emergency medical
As first responder, perform rescue functions at accidents, emergencies and disasters to include administering emergency medical aid, lifting, dragging and carrying people away from dangerous situations and securing and evacuating people from particular areas as well as directing traffic for long periods of time.

Position Summary:
A Signal Armed Security Officer will conduct security services for the surveillance and protection against fire, theft, pilferage, malicious injury, and destruction. Armed security officers, equipped with concealed weapons, shall be dressed in a soft uniform for roving patrols and posted at the main lobby entrance of the facility assigned. Responsibilities of a Armed Security Officer may include:
Provide reasonable health security and infection prevention controls and screenings, as well as provide escort service to and from staff personnel and State vehicles.

Will write detailed and accurate reports utilizing company technology during each shift that align with site instruction/post orders.

Responsible for the care of any Signal equipment assigned during shift including company phone, access keys/cards and devices, etc.

Communicate with direct Supervisor to receive and disseminate information through daily huddles, such as the Client needs through post orders to ensure operational excellence and efficiency.

You will be the first-person to interact with people at the assigned Client site.
Job Description:
Security guards shall patrol the areas around the Clinics and report any illegal activity, unusual findings, or safety concerns. These random patrols will be logged into the Daily Operation log. While patrolling, security guards shall respond to all calls for assistance in the clinic quickly as possible. Security guards will provide escorts for vendors dropping off or picking up needed materials. Examples are lab, x-ray and sterile processing. Security Guards will also assist Police Physical Security Specialist with monthly intrusion alarm sensor testing.
Internal Patrol. Conduct minimum of eight internal foot patrols and four external foot patrols of the Clinical.
Security guards will, at random conduct patrols so as not to establish a pattern.
The final internal foot patrol will be conducted at prior to the close of business to make sure that no unauthorized persons remain in the building.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for sample collection from athletes. Tasks performed by the Doping Control Officer include preparation for, execution of and post-collection administration as it relates to Doping Control both at events and in the out-of-competition setting. Doping Control Officers are the field facing representatives of USADA. The primary objective of the Doping Control Officer is to conduct Doping Control throughout the United States, under direction of the Doping Control Operations team, for Olympic/Paralympic, and Client Services testing teams in support of USADAs mission and vision. The Doping Control Officer works with the HQ team to uphold USADAs goals of creating and maintaining a safe sport environment for all athletes. This role requires a valid Phlebotomy credential in good standing as outlined below. The role will include both local and national travel to conduct Doping Control assignments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct urine, blood, dried blood spot testing in support of the testing programs for the Olympic/Paralympic, and Client Services testing teams
Accept, plan and manage doping control test assignments
Recruit, onboard Chaperones
Witness sample collection or overseeing the witnessing of the Sample Collection Process
Drive to various locations to perform sample collections
Process athlete Samples according to USADA's protocol and procedures
Ensure accurate documentation/completion of the Doping Control Process
Ship and submit processed Samples to the specified WADA certified laboratory
Assist in the recruitment and training of Doping Control Officer candidates identified by USADA
Accountable to the most current version(s) of the DCO Manual, Sample Collection Documentation and other training resources

A valid and current phlebotomy certification that meets USADA's criteria is required in order to be eligible for this role.

COMPENSATION & TIME COMMITMENT:
Compensation is on a per-test basis(piece rate) for out-of-competition (OOC) missions, with compensation typically ranging from $130 to $180 per test dependent on the test parameters. OOC test sessions can vary in length, but generally take 1 to 2 hours for successful completion.
In Competition (event) testing is paid at a daily flat rate, typically at $250 per day.
Onboarding is anticipated to begin in December/January with a more significant time commitment up front for training. Expect a time commitment of 24-30 hours of time during the first 60 days of onboarding. After that it should only be 2-3 hours of training and updates per quarter, plus the necessary time to complete test assignments.

Job Overview
Performs Security Officer duties and provides supervision to staff to protect life and property against theft, vandalism, misappropriation, fire, flood, or similar disaster on assigned shift in compliance with government, corporate, and management directives.
Pay: $22.48/hour plus an additional $4.93/hour (up to maximum of 40 hours per week) used to offset the cost of elected benefits
Hours: 1pm-7:30am or Monday/Tuesday: 3pm-11:30pm, Wednesday/Thursday: 11pm-7:30am, Friday/Saturday off, Sunday: 7am-3:30pm

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
* Serve as supervisor of the department during assigned shift. Must be able to work all shifts which are day, prime and overnight.
* Maintain schedules and monitor visitors and reception area.
* Ensure the physical safety of buildings and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks, and emergency equipment. Maintain log of findings and corrective action taken.
* Train security transportation officers in safety procedures.
* Assist in reporting and suppressing fires, theft, and vandalism.
* Assist staff and law enforcement personnel in controlling disturbances. Conduct preliminary investigation and submit accident reports.
* Act as liaison with neighboring law enforcement and fire agencies when in charge.
* Perform administrative paperwork, i.e., logs, control sheets, accident reports, and conduct investigations as directed.
* Teach classes on safety topics such as first aid, CPR, driving, and commercial driving instruction/ examinations, when certified and/or qualified to do so.
* Assure accountability of students, children, staff, and visitor check-in and check-out proceedings by supervising alarm station coverage.
* Maintain vehicles for routine service, clean vehicles, check fluid levels. Perform routine vehicle equipment inspection daily, including lights, brakes, mirrors, steering, and other required operating equipment. Recommend mechanical repairs as needed.
* Ensure adherence to established schedules for CDL / DOT requirements/compliance.
* Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
* Transport students to and from Center. Perform accountability functions as assigned. Ensure proper student behavior and care of vehicles.
* Cultivate and maintain a climate on Center, which is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
* Promote student attainment of career success standards through modeling appropriate skills, mentoring students, monitoring skill acquisition and intervening when inappropriate behavior is observed.
* Perform all other duties as requested.

Mandatory:

DESCRIPTION: VPSOs carry out public safety/first responder duties in the rural communities within the Northwest Arctic Borough. VPSOs perform the following first responder functions: enforce laws, conduct investigations, provide emergency medical response, provide fire protection services, organize and conduct search and rescue operations, monitor public safety, provide emergency response and address community preparedness, provide public safety education and community policing. VPSO duties will vary from village to village. Service coordination is provided with the cooperation of the local city or tribal governments.
DUTIES:
Essential Functions: This list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by VPSOs.
Representative Duties: Under the general supervision of the VPSO Coordinator, VPSOs will perform the following public safety services:
Enforce the criminal laws of the state or a municipality.
Conduct investigations, secure crime scenes, serve summons,
guard and transport prisoners, and respond to crimes in progress. The use of force may be required including the need for deadly force.
Exercise powers usually and customarily exercised by a peace officer.
Perform law enforcement duties as requested by Alaska State Troopers.
Provide emergency medical services and assistance to the community health aides as requested.
Provide local fire prevention, suppression, and education services in coordination with the NAB Fire Department. Duties may include assisting the community with fire training and equipment maintenance.
Participate in and coordination of search and rescue efforts for missing or injured persons.
Maintain the safety of the public and community by patrolling roadways, schools, trails, waterways, community/private property, and public facilities.
Make public appearances at community events, attend city and tribal council meetings.
Respond to emergencies as required and take any necessary action to correct a public safety hazard.
Assist the community in providing animal control.
Complete NAB and Department of Public Safety reports in a timely manner.
Provide probation and parole supervision, including urine testing, searches, and contact with individuals under supervision of probation and parole violations.
Provide local training programs on public safety, including but not limited to DARE, water safety, fire safety, firearms safety, hunter's education, personal safety, and ATV safety.
Assist local communities with emergency response planning, preparedness, and response.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a citizen of the United States or a resident alien who has demonstrated intent to become a citizen of the United States.
Must be twenty-one years of age or older.
Must have a good moral character.
High School Diploma, or its equivalent, or General educational development (GED).
Within six months of hire or prior to academy, whichever comes first, be certified by a physician licensed in Alaska on a medical record form supplied by the Department, to:
Be free from any physical or hearing condition which would adversely affect performance of an essential function of a VPSO;
Have normal color discrimination, normal binocular coordination, normal peripheral vision and corrected visual acuity of 20/30 or better in each eye;
Be free from mental or emotional condition that would adversely affect the performance of an essential function of a village public safety officer.
Has not been convicted, by a civilian court of this state, the United States, or another state or territory, or by a military court, of one or more of the following offenses, or of an offense with substantially similar elements to such an offense under Alaska law:
a felony;
any misdemeanor within five (5) years of the date of hire;
a misdemeanor within 10 years of the date of hire, if the misdemeanor involved:
an assault against a family member, former family member, member of the individuals' household, or former member of the household;
the violation of a domestic violence restraining order.

Has not ever:
illegally manufactured, transported, or delivered:
a controlled substance;
an alcohol beverage in violation of a local option under AS 04.11 or a municipal ordinance.

Must pass a complete background investigation that meets the standards in AS 18.65.672.
Will be required to submit to a psychological exam.

Applicants requiring academy attendance, must meet the pre-academy physical fitness standard prior to hire:

Physical demands: A VPSO must be able to work long hours, travel, and live in remote areas. A VPSO will be exposed to certain conditions including but not limited to travel by small aircraft, vehicle, boat, and snow machine, lack of running water, sleeping on floors, and exposure to adverse weather conditions. Excellent health and physical condition are necessary due to the physical demands of the job. Patrolling may be done on foot. VPSOs may escort prisoners, escort individuals to treatment facilities, be exposed to blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids, or subdue resisting subjects. Use of force may be required up to and including the use of deadly force.
Supervision: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Summation: A VPSO must be able to pass a background investigation, achieve VPSO certification within 2 years of hire, be able to attend regional or other trainings as assigned, and pass a 90-day probationary period.
