Givens Estates is looking for a Part-Time weekend Safety & Security Officer to help provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere for our residents, guests, and employees. The Safety and Security Officer ensures a safe environment, controlling access, responding to emergencies, conducting patrols, and monitoring safety incidents. Responsibilities include traffic control, alarm monitoring, assistance to residents, and safety drills.
What You'll do:
Manage the entry and exit points of the community to ensure that only authorized individuals have access.
Respond swiftly to alarms by investigating and determining the cause, ensuring that proper actions are taken to resolve any issues.
Conduct regular patrols of the campus, including parking areas, walkways, and buildings, to deter and detect any suspicious activity.
Be the first point of contact during emergencies, providing assistance and guidance to residents, guests, and staff.
Perform routine checks of security equipment, such as surveillance cameras, communication devices, and alarms, to ensure they are functioning correctly.
Respond to calls for assistance with empathy and professionalism, ensuring that everyone feels safe and cared for within the community.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of all security activities, including patrols, incidents, and interactions with residents, staff, and visitors.
What You'll Need:
Must have certifications including CPR and First Aid, or ability to obtain such within 90-days
Must have/be willing to obtain an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification once hired
Preferred candidate will have EMT certification
Preferred candidate will have two years previous experience as a security officer, or similar
Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License
High School or GED equivalent is preferred
Schedule for this position is Saturday - Sunday, 7:00am - 7:00pm
Compensation is $19.50 - $22.50 per hour, based on background and experience, plus benefits!

The primary responsibility of this role is to help maintain a safe and secure environment for faculty, staff, students, and guests on the Warren Wilson College campus. Job Title: Hospitality / Security Staff
Reports To: Hospitality / Security Director
Status: Non-Exempt

Mountaintop's actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.
Position Summary: Supports the Hospitality/Security Dept. by enforcing the club's operational procedures in order to maintain an even and safe flow of traffic, to direct members, guests, and visitors to their destination.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Greet all members, guests and visitors with enthusiasm, confidence, and an eagerness to assist.
• Maintain a friendly, helpful demeanor at all times.
• Maintain key control for Club Operations and Homeowners.
• Secure and report all lost and found items to Member Services.
• Maintain an incident report log and communicate any occurrences to the Hospitality/Security Director.
• Offer members and their guests complementary bottled water.
• Welcome new club members and greet all returning club members during their visits to the club.
• Enforce all club rules and regulations governing the use of Mountaintop facilities.
• Responsible for maintaining operation in accordance with all local and state laws.
• Operate and maintain Main Gate and Back Gate with knowledgeable, competent personnel.
• Inspect work area and vehicles on a daily basis throughout your shift to ascertain any maintenance, repairs, or additional needs.
• Practice high visibility at the Main Gate while receiving residents and guests and to ensure prompt, efficient and knowledgeable service.
• Maintain all equipment and systems relevant to the Hospitality / Security Department.
• Weekly scheduling of all department staff members.
• Handle member problems and issues professionally and knowledgeably and refer them to Hospitality/Security Director for review.
• Attend all relevant department operations meetings.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
• Support the Club Standards manual.
• Maintain maintenance and inventory management of equipment.
• Coordinate with management on any community relations endeavors.
• Assist with any special projects that are assigned by management.
• Deliver newspapers to Clubhouse, General Store and residents.
• Pick up lunch for Gates and General Store.
• Load and deliver wood to Guardhouse, General Store. Monitor traffic speeds.
• Monitor all construction sites to ensure all workers have proper work passes.
• Trash pick-up for all residents on property every Mon, Wed, Fri.
• Make sure that first aid kits and tool kits are up to date and well stocked.
• Make sure that all the roads are passable during inclement weather.
• Enforce employee parking rules during the season.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of driving, standing and walking.

What You'll Do:
Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the location, including access control responsibilities.
Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain a secure environment for personnel and visitors.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and identify potential issues.
Assist with emergency response activities as directed, in accordance with Allied Universal and client protocols.
Document observations, incidents, and activities in detailed reports for management review.
Minimum Requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
