Relocation assistance is not available for this position. What you'll do: Understands and applies policies and procedures displaying basic knowledge on operational matters. Responds to critical incidents and takes direction on immediate actions to stop acts of violence, render first aid, and resolve issues during the response phase of Incident Management. Participates in training drills, receives feedback on response, and participates in after action reviews for emergency response situations. Monitors alarms, cameras, fire alarm systems, and access control programs along with radio traffic, dispatching officers, coordinating response actions for critical incidents and documenting activities for escalation to incident reports. Controls access for employees and visitors, creates and issues credentials, and responds to policy violations. Performs patrols of facilities/properties to prevent trespassing, theft, vandalism, parking/traffic infractions and unauthorized conduct impacting the safety of the campus. Enforces parking and traffic controls and composes incident reports. Completes duty assignments and on-the-job duty position training. Conducts post-related activities during special events and supports executive protection or law enforcement during incident response. Documents shift activities, and ensures detailed information is passed on to team members. Attends and completes all training sessions and responds to feedback from security management and the training team. Completes Defensive Tactics and Handgun training and Standards Evaluation, complies with USAA Force Continuum, issue/turn-in, storage/transportation procedures and maintains State handgun licensing. Maintains current first aid training. Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures. What you have: High School Diploma, General Equivalency Diploma, or applicable trade/technical school diploma. 1 or more years of physical security, law enforcement, or military combat arms experience. Ability to operate computer programs for access control, camera systems, alarm annunciation, radio dispatch and general use of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must possess valid state driver's license. Job Offer contingent on passing the MMPI evaluation. The Security Specialist is responsible for performing security and safety functions within a cannabis cultivation facility. As a Security Specialist, you are responsible for providing critical security and administrative support to management. Security Specialists may be cross-trained and asked to support other departments occasionally to meet business needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Check in all employees, visitors, vendors, and deliveries. * Ensure all visitors, vendors, and delivery drivers sign in on the sign-in sheet. * Scan IDs and provide temporary badges to visitors, vendors, and delivery drivers. * Maintain all hard copy and digital logs of scanned IDs, sign-in sheets, and all facility logs. * Provide general support to visitors, vendors, and delivery drivers. * Review surveillance video of events and create/maintain event logs from all security systems. * Create new badge access cards for new employees, visitors, and vendors. * Alert management for required support on all security systems-skyline cameras, Strat security/fire alarms, and internet connectivity. * Coordinate delivery schedules and outgoing office shipments with management. * Monitor and maintain quality control measures in accordance with state and local laws. * Adhere to company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). * Maintain a clean and safe working environment within the facility and production areas. * Immediately inform the Security Manager of any system discrepancies. * Document all activity using the company's track and trace system. * Work within company continuous improvement system and strive to increase productivity. * Check in and check out all van keys for drivers. * Give all cash to Human Resources or appropriate party for accounting. * Schedule weekly armored vehicle pickups for cash deposits from order fulfillment. * Ensure the door is locked during any time cash is out. * Coordinate with corporate's finance department to ensure all cash is accounted for. * Accept cash from all delivery drivers on every delivery and store in safe. * Perform other duties as assigned by management. Job Description Program: CORT (Community Offender Rehabilitative Treatment) This program in partnership with Sarasota County Corrections, will provide a 40 bed secure residential behavioral health treatment for male offenders who are currently incarcerated in the Sarasota County Corrections Facility. The program will offer intensive supervision and evidenced-based rehabilitation to felony offenders up to 120 days who are incarcerated and awaiting sentencing as well as those who are directly sentenced to the program to serve out the remainder of their sentence. The overall goal is to provide treatment in a secure setting with a focus on substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, change the client's criminal thinking patterns, stabilize their substance use and/or mental illness, and assist in the transition into the community through vocational training and peer support. Core Duties * Controls access to the client site or facility through the admittance process; assists visitors with a legitimate need to gain entry to the facility; screens visitors and client employees efficiently to expedite their admittance to the site or facility. * Provides an atmosphere in which all client employees and visitors know that the client responds to and cares about their needs; provides a courteous, respectful, and pleasant interaction with each client employee and visitor as perceived from their point of view; presents a good image of the client and its security department. * Communicates in a manner that is open, honest, and responsive in all situations; provides information to the extent authorized regarding the site and surrounding area as requested by visitors. * Monitors entrances and exits; acts to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry; controls entrances, the movement of people and vehicles, and parking; operates a gate and examines vehicle contents; monitors remote entrances using closed circuit television; operates remote access devices; calmly directs persons who cause a disturbance to leave the property. * Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked ingress and egress, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons; inspects buildings and grounds using appropriate equipment and protective gear. * Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations; sets up barriers and signage; and provides direction or information to others. * Prepares logs or reports as required for site; writes or types reports or enters information in a computer using standard grammar; inspects security control logs and takes action as required. * Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to client representatives, company management, life/safety personnel, or public safety authorities as appropriate for the circumstances and/or as required by the site. * Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following procedures established for the site, by the company, and/or through training or certification. * Acts to ensure that all property removal is conducted within appropriate policy requirements and in accord with client standards; identifies client products or materials among items carried by client employees or visitors. * Carries out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the assigned site. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference depending upon the nature of the position Basic Qualifications * United States citizenship preferred * Ability to acquire and maintain any other specific special clearances/access requirements. Education/Experience * High School Diploma or G.E.D * Related experience preferred Background Prerequisites Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing) * Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers. * Must be able to meet and continue to meet certification requirements for Basic Life Support CPR/AED and First Aid from American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. * Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures. * Ability to see, hears, speak, and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and clients. Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports. * Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. * Ability to be an effective team member. * Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances. * Courteous telephone manner. * Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization. * Good organizational skills. * Ability to provide high quality customer service. * Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures. * Required ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently. * Basic skills in keyboarding, computer usage, and operating controls.
