Responsibilities: Patrol duties: Armed first responder to all emergencies on campus to protect life and property. Responds to calls for service. Conducts preliminary investigation and writes thorough and detailed incident reports. Contacts local law enforcement as necessary. Conducts preventive patrols and makes routine security checks of all off campus buildings and structures. Detects and investigates criminal activity on university property. May detain persons who have committed offenses and turn custody over to local law enforcement. Conducts parking enforcement, issues citations, and tows vehicles as necessary. Campus security services: Conducts security patrols of all Quinnipiac properties 24/7, year-round. Patrols are made primarily by vehicle. Walking and bicycle patrols are also performed. Answers all alarm calls. Sets/resets alarms. Manages building access control. Makes reports of unsafe building and grounds maintenance issues to Facilities Department. Serves as emergency notifying agency for facilities related issues after business hours. Assists community members, guests and visitors needing help or support. Provides security and crowd management services at special events such as athletic events, move-in, and graduations. Provides escorts and dignitary protection.
