Job Title: Unarmed Security Guard Job Type: Part Time Pay Range: $23.50 We are currently seeking a professional and observant Retail Security Officer to maintain a visible security presence and support a safe shopping environment. This position involves active foot patrols, theft deterrence, and collaboration with store staff and property management to ensure the protection of people, property, and merchandise. Key Responsibilities: Maintain a high-visibility presence throughout retail areas to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activity. Conduct routine foot patrols inside and around the store or shopping center to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards. Respond to incidents involving theft, trespassing, or disturbances in a professional and appropriate manner. Communicate regularly with store employees, property management, and other on-site personnel to exchange updates and receive direction. Support loss prevention efforts by observing shoppers and reporting suspected shoplifting to appropriate personnel. Provide customer service as needed, including offering directions or answering basic inquiries while maintaining security priorities. Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation. Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid California Guard Card issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) is required. High school diploma or GED. Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain alert and professional in a retail environment. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts as required. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in retail security, customer service, or loss prevention. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus but not required. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours). Ability to move quickly in response to incidents. May be required to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
