Supports in the management of the daily operations and staff of the Secuirty department.
Responsibilities:
Enforce the rules and policies of Worlds of Fun, Six Flags Entertainment, State Laws, County and City Ordinances.
Assist in maintaining a security presence on property by patrolling on foot or in a company vehicle and being observant and quick to report all incidents.
Demonstrate and continually train the Cornerstones of Safety, Service, and Cleanliness and the Core Values of Integrity, Courtesy, and Inclusiveness to each Guest and Ambassador.
Patrol and inspect assigned areas of the property, check areas for unauthorized persons or vehicles, unlocked doors, and fire and safety hazards.
Respond to emergencies promptly, evaluate the nature and severity of the situation, and act accordingly, including calling for assistance and interacting with local law enforcement and other EMS services if necessary.
Apprehend and hold individuals who are involved in criminal activity.
Write detailed reports of theft, injury, property damage, conditions of property, unauthorized person's on-site, etc. and be able to testify in court if required.
Perform inspections of all items brought into the park through the metal detectors.
Maintain control of Toll Plaza, Park entry and exits.
Escort guests and/or ambassadors as needed.
Ensure all Training Material is practiced in the workplace including Park, Departmental, and Private Security License/Updates.
Address Guest Concerns as they arise in the assigned location.
Always be professional and provide exceptional guest service by answering questions, giving directions and/or enhancing the guest experience.
Conduct training sessions to introduce new ambassadors to the department policies and procedures.
Provide ongoing coaching and support to existing ambassadors to enhance their skills and performance.
Provide oversight and subject matter expertise on assigned area of responsibility (i.e., training, records management, patrol operations, vehicle operations, emergency preparedness, guest screening
Qualifications:
· Class A Private Security License, unarmed, preferred.
· At least one year of supervisory experience.
· Must be available Days, Evenings, Overnights (Graveyard), Weekends, and Holidays.
· Must have a valid Driver's License.
· Must possess the physical and mental abilities to respond to situations quickly.
· Must have the ability to work indoors and outdoors and in all weather conditions.
· Must have the ability to stand, walk, and run for periods of time, as well as bend, squat, kneel, and stoop when needed.

Flex Officer Explanation
The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company's operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.
Scheduling Expectations
The scheduling parameters and expectations for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a flex:
You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week's schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability described on this sheet, you must communicate this with your supervisor, so they know not to schedule you.
For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. If you refuse more than 20% of shifts for which you are called in, this could negatively impact your employment status with the company.

Qualifications:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Must be observant for suspicious/irregular or threatening activities across facilities. Must be available to aid and security in escorting students and employees to appropriate destinations. Must always be highly visible and available for student and employee safety needs.
Requires regular inspection tours, on foot, of assigned buildings which requires the employee to walk long distances, climb stairs, and may subject the employee to extreme weather conditions. Inspections include checking doors, windows, and gates. Must monitor people in buildings requiring authorization for being there and requiring those not authorized to leave. Maintain an awareness of route information such as building hours, fire and intrusion alarm status, and on-going maintenance problems. Stay knowledgeable of state fire codes, university safety guidelines, and policies governing university buildings.
Safeguards the university against hazards, safety problems, and property damage. Ensure appropriate illumination of buildings to include exits and stairwell lights. Inspect buildings with an eye toward utility conservation. Takes prompt action to eliminate immediate danger to life or property.
Responds, usually on foot, immediately to emergency situations. Assist in building evacuations, when needed. Assist in perimeter control, when necessary, which may involve exposure to extreme weather conditions. Reports life threatening conditions and/or property loss/damage to proper authorities. Provide assistance in accordance with training and common sense and/or stands by until help arrives.
Must work cooperatively with others providing a courteous, complete and efficient service. Must maintain proper care and control of department equipment and vehicles. Participate in and/or provide training as required. Must have a positive work attendance, work in a variety of environments and climatic conditions, have flexibility to work evenings and weekend hours, and the willingness to work overtime as necessary. Represent the University in a positive and responsive manner.
Perform other duties as assigned and required which may be with little or no advance notice. May involve standing for long periods of time and/or exposure to extreme weather conditions.
