The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company's operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.
Scheduling Expectations
The scheduling parameters and expectations for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a flex:
* You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
* Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
* You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week's schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
* You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet. Location: Rocklin, CA
Classification: Non-exempt
Shifts: Swing and late evening shifts, weekends
Grade: part-time
Compensation: $18.00-$20.00 per hour, and depends on experience and assigned site

Position reports to: Site Supervisor and Operations Office
Security Officer Job Purpose:
Maintains safe and secure environment for the assigned site, client, and employees by controlling access, patrolling and monitoring premises. Security officer will guard the assigned site against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. This job classification requires knowledge of security procedures and policies.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Knows and can assume the duties of all other non-supervisory security positions.
B. Knows and enforces all of the assigned rules/policies
C. Have complete knowledge of the assigned site street and amenities.
D. Works various shifts as assigned by the Site Supervisor.
E. Assist in the collection and reporting of statistical information and data.
F. Ensures compliance of entry requirements as needed.
G. Responds to non-emergency calls for service, and, within the limits of his/her knowledge, experience, the law, and policies, attempts to prevent or reduce injury or loss of property to the assigned site, its members and/or guests until relieved by responsible public agencies.
H. Monitors and responds to fire and/or rescue calls to assist as needed and able.

K. Documents activities, collisions, crimes, policy violations, and other events as required, in a neat, concise manner and on the proper report form and format.
L. Maintains a good working relationship with local public enforcement and other agencies.

N. Maintains a neat and professional appearance.
O. Ability to work with and/or without supervision
P. Checks all assigned site's buildings, roadways, and other property for damage, intrusion, security violations, and/or hazards reporting the results on required forms.
Q. Officer is required to patrol in a non-routine manner, in an assigned vehicle, with the objective of preventing or stopping criminal or other unacceptable conduct.
R. Be familiar with all facilities and amenities of the assigned site
S. Officers will present themselves as courteous and professional at all times.
T. Maintain the security patrol vehicle by cleaning the interior and exterior as needed.
U. Maintains control and is objective when faced with occasional verbally abusive persons.
V. Any other duties as may be required by operations.
