Under the general supervision of the Corrections Security Director, the Supervising Officer 2 performs highly responsible work with responsibility for the security, custody and control of Facility Residents in the institution's security program. Positions at this level carry major responsibility for supervision of security staff and facility residents on an assigned shift, providing security, discipline and order of the institution. We are currently looking for a: Noah's Ark - Night Security Agent - Seasonal Roles & Responsibilities: Job Duties & Responsibilities: Enforce all Park and Dorm rules and regulations Monitor Park assets with intent to ensure the safety of all our guests and hosts Maintain constant vigilance of assigned location to identify any potential issues or safety concerns; communicate any potential issues to other departments and/or leadership in a timely manner Maintain compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe environment for colleagues and guests Monitor resident safety and communicate conflicts to supervisor Assist after-hours resident arrivals with check-in and communicate with HR Accurately document any incidents in residence hall in timely manner for HR to address with residents in a timely manner Assist dorm residents with mail/package pick-up Take control of emergency and intense situations while remaining calm Professionally manage crowd control during emergency situations Exercise clear and concise communications with all park departments Utilized electronic card access, closed circuit television, and other audio/visual monitoring systems, monitors and supervises the response to all reports or irregular conditions, including the unauthorized entry of persons or vehicles to protected buildings and areas, breaches of perimeter security or any other suspicious activities occurring on the property. All other duties as assigned by leadership Education and Experience: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered 1+ year of previous security or related experience highly desired Wisconsin Security Identification Card are preferred, but not required Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus. Occupational Summary The primary responsibility of the security officer is assisting in providing an inclusive, safe, and secure campus environment so students, faculty, and staff can focus their attention on learning and conducting the business of the College. The security officer will assist in fostering an optimal learning environment by patrolling the campus, ensuring facilities are accessible or secured at appropriate times to the appropriate individuals, monitoring visitors, enforcing school policies, reporting unsafe or unhealthy conditions, acting as a deterrent to unsafe or poor behavior, and assisting administrators and/or public officials with emergency or investigative situations. The work is performed with some degree of independence for immediate action following college policies and security department standing orders and procedures. The security officer reports to and is supervised by the Director of Security. The scheduled hours for this position are 6:00 p.m.-4:00 a.m. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities * Interacts in a professional manner with members of the campus and community while building and maintaining relationships that allow individuals who come with diverse social identities from many different cultures to feel comfortable in approaching and communicating with the officer. * Patrols designated buildings and grounds of the College campus on a continuous basis in order to identify and assess situations that may affect the security and safety of the College and the College community. * Protects life and property of the College and College community. Reports unusual or suspicious activities and inappropriate use of College facilities or property. * Provides directions, personal escorts, and assistance to students, employees, and the general public in a courteous, respectful, and efficient manner when requested or needed. * Perform daily checks of all campus buildings and floors, which may include: locking and unlocking entry doors, checking authorized building uses, monitoring for safety concerns/hazards, inspecting mechanical equipment areas and reporting malfunctions to Facilities or other relevant departments as needed if correction isn't possible. * Responds to calls for service, which could involve resolving lockouts, housekeeping, maintenance or other issues as directed. Notifies relevant staff during business hours, or on-call staff after hours. * Responds to emergencies or preliminary investigations of incidents in a timely manner, including but not limited to, medical / psychological / emotional emergencies, natural disasters, trespassing, theft, vandalism, threats of violence and disturbances. Identifies the source or cause of the problem, handles it effectively, and coordinates with appropriate campus or other public officials. * Checks identification cards and gathers pertinent information from complainants, participants, or witnesses to incidents. Completes any necessary administrative forms & provides factual, descriptive, typed reports. * Maintains regular radio contact with dispatch to log what buildings they've checked, report unusual situations, and to request back up when necessary. * Appears in court regarding incidents that occurred in the campus community when necessary. * Conducts monthly fire equipment and other safety equipment inspections as scheduled or needed. * Provides transportation for hospital trips and bank runs when necessary. * Fulfill and perform all the duties required of the Security Dispatcher position. * Activates the Emergency Alert notification system and scripts Community Alerts as needed. * Performs other similarly related duties as assigned or required. Credentials and Experience * High school diploma or equivalent. * Formal training and/or experience in a related field preferred. Special Requirements * Must undergo a criminal background check, and MVR check in accordance with College policy. * Must have and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license and be insurable under College guidelines. DUIs, reckless driving, and speeding +15MPH are instant disqualifications. You must have 2 or fewer moving violations in the past 5 years. * Must be able to work outside for the duration of the assigned shift. * Must have, or be able to obtain within one year or less of employment, approved basic first aid and CPR/AED certifications. * Must be reachable by phone, or text when off duty for time-sensitive work-related issues. * Must be willing and available to work any and all shifts including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime when required due to the position mandating 24-hour coverage. Physical Requirements * Ability to perform a full range of body motions, including but not limited to: bending, squatting, twisting, crawling, climbing, and reaching. * Considerable walking and climbing stairs in all weather conditions, including the ability to climb stairs and ladders up to 30 feet. * Ability to independently lift up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally. * Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, run in response to a call, and freely traverse campus. * Visual ability to operate equipment safely and effectively. * Hearing and speaking abilities to effectively communicate through radio equipment and in person. * Must maintain physical fitness standards so as to perform rescues, detention of suspects and other physically demanding assignments. May exert in excess of 100 pounds of force in restraining or transporting individuals.
