The Asset Protection Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store/multiple stores. They utilize tools to minimize loss to the Company, including but not limited to identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring the store's physical security, auditing the Electronic Article Surveillance and driving a shrink elimination culture in the store. Other responsibilities include: preparing accurate and detailed case reports documenting your apprehensions and recoveries, preserving evidence, interacting with law enforcement and testifying in criminal and civil court actions. The Asset Protection Specialist must report any hazardous or unsafe condition to the Manager on Duty and carry out job responsibilities in a manner that minimizes the risk of injury to themselves, other associates, vendors, customers, and the Company. They must demonstrate integrity at all times, respond to asset protection and operational concerns of all associates and remain focused on store specific business objectives while supporting key asset protection and operational responsibilities. Compensation varies based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, performance, location and salary range at the time of the offer._ **Responsibilities** Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors. + Perform proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats. + Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards. + Maintain knowledge/follow policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. + May facilitate planned drills and simulations. + Train and mentor staff on environment of care and emergency management processes and procedures. + Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety. + Provide for traffic and parking enforcement within campus area and participates in foot and vehicle patrols + Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. + For those security officers who are responsible for operating a vehicle, operate in a safe andresponsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations. **Requirements** Licensure / Certification / Registration: + Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. + BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. + Law Enforcement preferred. + Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc preferred. + Security Professional preferred. + Security Guard preferred.
