The Public Safety Communications Officer I serves as the first line defense in emergencies by providing critical support to residents and visitors in distress. This position is responsible for receiving, processing, transmitting and conveying public safety information to dispatchers, law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical services and emergency management personnel based on the caller's location and the nature of the call, all while utilizing computer computer-aided dispatch (CAD), radio systems, and maintaining detailed call logs; essentially acting as the crucial communications link between the public and first responders within St. Lucie County. Call Handling:
* Handle multiple calls and tasks simultaneously, prioritizing critical incidents and responding to requests from public safety teams.
* Operate communication equipment, including radio systems, telephones, computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software, and other tools necessary for effective communication.
* Follow established protocols and procedures for dispatching, handling emergencies, and ensuring compliance with public safety standards and regulations.
* Receive and prioritize emergency calls (911) and non-emergency calls, accurately gathering information and assessing the situation to determine appropriate response actions and prioritize based on urgency and severity, ensuring rapid response to life-threatening situations.
* Provide advice and guidance to callers who are in danger or need immediate assistance, while emergency responders are enroute.
* Handle non-emergency requests from the public, including directing individuals to appropriate resources or providing information related to public safety services.
* Remain calm and focused under pressure during high-stress situations, ensuring clear and accurate communication during emergencies.
Dispatching Services:
* Determine the appropriate response units (police, fire, and EMS) based on the nature of the emergency and dispatch the units, ensuring timely and appropriate resources are sent to the scene.
* Monitor the progress of dispatched units and provide updates as needed.
* Maintain continuous communication with public safety personnel, providing real-time updates, information, and ensure proper closure of incidents.
* Coordinate emergency response efforts with other public safety agencies and outside organizations (e.g., utility companies, hospitals).
Data Entry and Recordkeeping:
* Document all calls, incidents, and activities accurately and completely for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
* Accurately enter incident information into computer systems, ensuring that all calls and actions are documented properly for legal and operational purposes.
Protocols and Procedures:
* Follow established guidelines and procedures for handling emergency calls and dispatching units.
* Demonstrate comprehension of general liability concepts and terms as well as a comprehension of specific liability issues associated with the position including the most notable areas of litigation in public safety communications.
* Adhere to applicable local, state, tribal or federal statutes or codes as appropriate.
* Comprehension and application of the division's confidentiality policies and rules regarding the discussion or release of information acquired in the workplace to the public, the media, or others.
Shift Work:
* Work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as 24/7 emergency services are required.
* Work schedules include 12 hour rotating shifts and can include up to 16 hours.
* Will be required to work during declarations of emergencies and disasters without notice or timeframe.
* May be mandatory to work additional days or hours outside regular scheduled days or hours.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds occasionally. Primarily involves sitting, with occasional walking or standing. Requires the ability to use a computer or other equipment while seated for extended periods. May involve fine motor skills for tasks such as typing or handling small items.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS AND WORK HAZARDS:
Work is primarily conducted in a climate-controlled office setting. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting and extensive use of computers and other office equipment, which may lead to eye strain and repetitive motion injuries. Employees may frequently engage in meetings and teamwork, requiring effective communication in shared spaces. The position involves minimal physical exertion, primarily consisting of desk work, although occasional movement within the office may be required. Employees will work under standard office lighting and may experience moderate noise levels from office equipment and conversations.

During the evening shift the Operations Manager will ensure all contractors are off the property by 5 p.m. (checking all related common hallways for construction debris), retrieve packages from Receiving for residents, relieve the Front Desk Manager as needed, assist all Residents with issues that do not need the Property Manager's involvement, regularly walk the property checking all areas to ensure proper operation/safety and investigate/report any incidents that may occur during the course of the shift. The Operations Manager is responsible for notifying the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor whenever a mechanical malfunction or emergency occurs.
Your Responsibilities:
* All employees are required to check in with the Property Manager during the issuance of a Tropical Storm or Hurricane Watch or Warning.
* While on duty or on the property, all employees must be in full uniform and maintain the neat appearance of their dress (this includes identification badges being always displayed).
* All employees must be courteous and respectful to their fellow employees, residents, and guests.
* All employees must contact the Management Office if they are late or absent.
* All employees must maintain their assigned areas in a neat and safe manner. All safety procedures must be maintained and adhered to. Any safety issues must be brought to the attention of the Property Manager immediately.
* All employees must attend the mandatory bi-monthly staff meeting.

* Retrieve packages for the Residents from the Receiving Office after normal Receiving Hours or if the Receiving Clerk is busy assisting others. Proper procedures regarding the release of packages must be followed.
* Relieve the Receiving Clerk as needed.

* Monitor the Valet Personnel, ensuring compliance with the Association's Guidelines for vehicular traffic in the garage and on the Valet ramp.
* At the beginning and end of each shift, check the Fire Alarm Panel, ensuring that it is fully operational. Report any troubles in writing to the Property Manager immediately.
* Assist the Property Manager and Administrative Assistant as needed.
* Respond to any mechanical, medical or police emergencies and assist as necessary.
* Report to the Property Manager any problems as soon as possible, recording all irregularities on an Incident Report.
* This position requires being properly relieved before the end of the shift. If the relieving Operations Manager or roving security officer (on 3rd shift) does not report to work on time, the on-duty Operations Manager must stay on duty until relief arrives.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Minimum of High School diploma. CPR Certification is desirable.
* Must possess a strong managerial background. Experience as a manager managing the Property or building operations, such as staff and service contracts, resident retention and resident improvements is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

The specialist helps ensure the products and designs we receive from licensees, as well as any other representation of the brand, are in compliance with the rules and regulations of intellectual property agreements, trademark and copyright laws, regulatory agencies, design direction, and that company policies and procedures are being followed. This includes substantiating the authenticity of all sports related elements in design, marketing, and social media, and rigorously reviewing and approving (or rejecting) all licensee-submitted product concepts, samples, and artwork before they reach retail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ā· Review product, packaging, advertising, web sites, social media, and broadcasting submissions from global Licensees for compliance.
Ā· Write concise, professional approval comments or detailed rejection/correction reports and manage revision cycles with licensees.
Ā· Track submission status, deadlines, and approval history in the licensing portal.
Ā· Ensure 100% adherence to brand style guides, logo usage rules, color standards, placement specifications, and prohibited design elements.
Ā· Review product physical samples from global licensees for compliance including checking product, trims, labeling, and packaging against the licensee agreement and brand quality benchmarks.
Ā· Review, maintain, and assist in revision of policies and procedures for the operation of the Brand Protection program and its related activities to prevent high risk or improper use of the intellectual property or improper representation of the brand assets and marks.
Ā· Provide support to the Director of Brand Protection.
Ā· Use and help maintain software for review of brand assets.
Ā· Collaborate with other departments to direct brand protection issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
Ā· Assist Director of Brand Protection with ongoing training of various licensed partners and internal staff, including research and departmental training on relevant topics.
Ā· Identify potential areas of vulnerability and risk; help develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
Ā· Avoid legal challenges and conflicts by understanding and staying current on settlement guidelines, current legal matters and restrictions, and monitoring product and packaging of other brands.
Ā· Research brand use of various marks and designs on intellectual property repositories.

Qualifications
Ā· Bachelor's degree required.
Ā· A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in product review, brand licensing, licensee product approval, style guide enforcement, and/or technical design management strongly preferred.

Consistently deescalate issues through communication in a professional and prompt manner.
Communicate with the Branch Patrol Supervisor to receive and disseminate information through Branch Supervisor Daily Scrum, such as the client needs, route changes, and post order updates to ensure operational excellence and efficiency.
