Allied Universal is currently looking to hire Professional Security Officers for a Mixed Use Building in Patchogue, Long Island
Positions are: Part Time
Workdays Available: Saturday and Sunday
Work Shifts Available: Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings, and Overnights
Hourly Pay Rate: $18.00 / hour
Weekly Pay
The Security Professional will conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior) in a hospital environment. Additional duties include control access and egress; monitor CCTV and alarm systems; compose reports; deter criminal activity and misconduct. Due to the safety sensitive nature of this role, qualified candidates must be able to submit to drug screening to the extent permissible by law. This assignment is in a healthcare facility. As such, a tuberculosis (TB) test and certain vaccinations may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform security patrols of hospital grounds on foot or in vehicle; document detailed observations of unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
Assist hospital staff with de-escalation of situations involving patients; restrain combative individuals as necessary (within company and customer guidelines)
Transport patients to the morgue, as needed
Assist in escorting patients from helicopter pad (high elevation) to the emergency room
Assist with evacuations during fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters
Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits; ensure only authorized individuals enter and exit the hospital, and that no contraband or hospital items are brought in or out
Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
High school diploma or equivalent
Current driver's license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable employment history relating customer service or the protective service industry (preferably security, healthcare, military, law enforcement, or corrections)
Must be at least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state
Able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public

Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
Bachelor's degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch
Associate's degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service

The MMTP Security Representative will be expected to actively support responsibilities specific to providing security expertise, guidance and support current and all future CLB MMTP execution to include: verification of security controls in support of Motor Module shipment from QP to CTF during the Motor Module Install and Test Period at CTF. Motor Module removal and return shipment from CTF to Electric Boat (Groton or QP).
Coordinate with the operations, advance planning, and engineering departments to identify when shipments or sensitive evolutions are scheduled with the Motor Module.
Ensure all required physical security safeguard requirements are met during Motor Module evolutions.
Establish and maintain a clear understanding of security controls required for sensitive, classified, and NNPI material.
Communicate with organizations on the identification and prioritization of item movements as they relate to security actions and requirements.
Oversees access control and logistics for the Motor Module while on-board the sea shuttle and while moored at CTF or Electric Boat Facilities (Groton or QP).
Validate the security controls prior to shipment of the Motor Module from Electric Boat (Groton or QP) to Integrated Power Systems (IPS) CTF to include return shipments.

Performs effectively as a Public Safety Officer and executes public safety-related duties in accordance with federal, state and university regulations; completes specialty tasks as assigned; remains abreast of public safety trends to enhance public safety skills and performs other duties necessary to ensure crime prevention of the university.
1. Effectively performs as a Public Safety Officer. This involves:
patrolling university buildings and grounds by way of radio-equipped cars, foot patrol and bicycles to prevent theft, trespass, vandalism or violations of General Statutes and/or university regulations,
investigating and reporting on any violations of the General Statute and/or university regulations,
enforcing parking regulations including the issuance of tickets, permits and coordination of towing efforts,
notifying supervisors and proper authorities regarding any violations of the General Statutes and/or university regulations,
responding and investigating motor vehicle accidents and accidents caused as a result of fire and personal injury in accordance with
proper public safety, health and safety procedures,
assisting in the supervision and professional development of officer trainees, non-officer Public Safety personnel and/or students,
performing general public safety functions including dispatch operations,
traffic control checkpoint duty, monetary escort services and basic
public safety service information to the general public,
effectively responding to and providing medical care in conjunction with appropriate completion of medical training.
2. Performs a specialty task as assigned.
3. Remains abreast of public safety trends and measures and attends appropriate training sessions to enhance public safety skills.
4. Executes other duties necessary to ensure crime prevention of the university.
5. Participates in the professional development of the department and the university. This involves:
participating in staff meetings as requested
acting as a responsible committee representative as requested,
promoting an image of efficiency and courtesy throughout the university community and consistent with the Department of Public Safety's mission.
6. Promotes safe and secure working conditions. This involves:
promoting the proper utilization of equipment and materials,
reporting immediately any unsafe working conditions to supervisor.
7. Assumes responsibility of the shift when designated as the senior officer on duty.
8. Performs other related duties as directed or dictated by responsibilities.

FUNCTION: Perform a variety of routine and non-routine security on activities at the Company facility to protect Company property and its human resources.
What You Will Do:
* Preserve order and enforce regulations pertaining to employees, visitors, other persons, and the premises.
* Screen and control employees, visitors and vehicles to prohibit unauthorized persons from entering company property and inspect items to prevent contraband being brought in, or property being removed from the premises.
* Ensure all material being removed from the facility is accompanied by the proper authorization. Make regular, recorded inspection tours of Company property, being alert to suspicious or unauthorized activity, hazardous conditions, assuring security functions are intact. Write reports describing all violations, irregularities or complaints noted.
* Direct vehicle traffic on Company roadways and adjacent public roadways as necessary and enforce parking regulations. Issue identification badges, passbooks and maintain rosters of contractors.
* Responding to emergencies of a security or medical nature. Operate Company vehicles and other powered industrial vehicles.
* Monitor and operate a centralized security and/or fire alarm system and associated network, including identification badge-key control system and/or computerized fire alarm, fire detection, suppression and surveillance systems.
* Respond to fire and/or hazmat emergencies, assist in organizing and directing others at the scene
May perform training duties within the facility for both Security Officer employees as well as other employees. May perform a variety of other protective services-related duties, as assigned.
