The Security Specialist is responsible for performing security and safety functions within a cannabis cultivation facility. As a Security Specialist, you are responsible for providing critical security and administrative support to management. Security Specialists may be cross-trained and asked to support other departments occasionally to meet business needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Check in all employees, visitors, vendors, and deliveries. * Ensure all visitors, vendors, and delivery drivers sign in on the sign-in sheet. * Scan IDs and provide temporary badges to visitors, vendors, and delivery drivers. * Maintain all hard copy and digital logs of scanned IDs, sign-in sheets, and all facility logs. * Provide general support to visitors, vendors, and delivery drivers. * Review surveillance video of events and create/maintain event logs from all security systems. * Create new badge access cards for new employees, visitors, and vendors. * Alert management for required support on all security systems-skyline cameras, Strat security/fire alarms, and internet connectivity. * Coordinate delivery schedules and outgoing office shipments with management. * Monitor and maintain quality control measures in accordance with state and local laws. * Adhere to company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). * Maintain a clean and safe working environment within the facility and production areas. * Immediately inform the Security Manager of any system discrepancies. * Document all activity using the company's track and trace system. * Work within company continuous improvement system and strive to increase productivity. * Check in and check out all van keys for drivers. * Give all cash to Human Resources or appropriate party for accounting. * Schedule weekly armored vehicle pickups for cash deposits from order fulfillment. * Ensure the door is locked during any time cash is out. * Coordinate with corporate's finance department to ensure all cash is accounted for. * Accept cash from all delivery drivers on every delivery and store in safe. * Perform other duties as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications * Minimum 1-3 years' experience in a related position. * Previous experience in security operations and procedures required. * Must have a positive attitude and work well with others in a team environment. * Willing to learn about, operate, and maintain facility equipment in a safe manner. * Able to stand for at least 6 hours per day and lift up to 25 pounds. * Have strong verbal and written communication skills. * Must be authorized to work in the United States. * Must be 21 years of age or older and able to successfully register with the state's cannabis commission as an agent. * Must comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry. Job Description Program: CORT (Community Offender Rehabilitative Treatment) This program in partnership with Sarasota County Corrections, will provide a 40 bed secure residential behavioral health treatment for male offenders who are currently incarcerated in the Sarasota County Corrections Facility. The program will offer intensive supervision and evidenced-based rehabilitation to felony offenders up to 120 days who are incarcerated and awaiting sentencing as well as those who are directly sentenced to the program to serve out the remainder of their sentence. The overall goal is to provide treatment in a secure setting with a focus on substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, change the client's criminal thinking patterns, stabilize their substance use and/or mental illness, and assist in the transition into the community through vocational training and peer support. Introduction This is highly responsible work in developing and supervising security and safety programs and procedures for the Waste to Energy (WTE) Facility. Record patrol times, findings, and actions taken using company reporting systems or mobile applications. Maintain accurate logs of vehicle mileage, fuel usage, and patrol coverage. Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or security deficiencies to management or clients. Client and Public Relations Interact courteously and professionally with clients, employees, visitors, and members of the public. Provide assistance such as directions, safety escorts, or customer service as requested. Represent the security company and client with professionalism, integrity, and respect. Communicate effectively with property management and other officers to coordinate coverage and response. Safety and Emergency Procedures Remain alert to potential hazards (fires, leaks, electrical issues, unsafe conditions) and take corrective action or report them immediately. Assist in implementing and enforcing emergency evacuation or lockdown procedures when required. Administer basic first aid or CPR when trained and necessary. Follow all company and site-specific safety protocols, including use of personal protective equipment. Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance Operate patrol vehicles safely and within company and state regulations. Inspect patrol vehicle daily for cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness. Ensure communication devices (radios, phones, GPS) and other issued equipment are functional and properly used. Report vehicle or equipment defects promptly for maintenance or replacement. Compliance and Professional Conduct Adhere to company policies, client post orders, and all state licensing or certification requirements. Maintain a neat, professional appearance in uniform at all times. Exercise sound judgment and discretion in all interactions and decisions. Protect confidential information and property assets of clients and the company. Attend required training sessions, safety meetings, and performance evaluations.
