    Paragon Professional Services is seeking Transportation Officers for Armed Ground Transportation Services for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in New Jersey. Candidate will assume full time status at a salary of $37.15 per hour. * Average completion time for onboarding and contract required training is roughly between 4 - 8 weeks. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The following duties outline the primary responsibilities associated with this position. This list is not exhaustive, and additional tasks may be assigned as needed. Perform transportation duties in accordance with PBNDS Standards and Training. Document all detainee transports, ensuring the safety of detainee records and possessions at all times. Provide trip documentation to the Transportation Coordinator promptly. Inform the Operations Supervisor, Transportation Coordinator, and/or Project Manager of any route changes. Obtain all necessary detainee documentation from the transferring facility/agency before departure. Maintain organized vehicle maintenance and service records in designated binders. Report any safety-related transportation issues immediately, completing a vehicle repair order for the Fleet Management Supervisor. Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections on your assigned vehicle before leaving the hub. Ensure all required equipment is present in your assigned vehicle, including first aid kits, insurance cards, flares, and security devices (refer to the vehicle equipment list). Arrive for work at the scheduled time assigned by the Operations Supervisor. If stationed at a guard post, such as a hospital, adhere to Post Orders and hospital protocols. Carry your guard card, weapons permit, ICE ID, Company ID, and medical card (if applicable) at all times. Complete a post-vehicle check at the end of your assignment. Submit any gas receipts to the Fleet Management Supervisor. Report any accidents, incidents, or injuries related to transportation duties, completing any required incident reports before departure. Complete a Record of Presence (ROP), equipment, and key sign-in/out sheets, along with all necessary daily paperwork. Maintain a valid Armed Guard/Firearms permit to perform transport duties. This includes passing periodic firearms recertification; failure to do so may result in reassignment. The Contractor will certify proficiency quarterly. Training will cover Use of Force, Tactics, Weapon Safety, and Range Qualifications. All Armed Officers must recertify with their duty handgun according to Federal contract or state requirements, achieving a minimum score of 200 (80%) out of 250 points while demonstrating safe weapon handling. Be prepared for rotating shifts, as this is a 24/7 contract. Qualifications - Experience, Education, and Certification To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to effectively carry out all essential duties. The following qualifications represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position. The Security Specialist position directly supports the US Security Organization for all ongoing activities that serve to provide appropriate access to, and protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of employee and business information in compliance with organization policies, procedures and regulatory requirements including NERC's Cyber Security Standards. SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE* Campus Safety & Presence * Maintains a safe, secure, and welcoming campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors through regular foot patrols and occasional vehicle patrols, including navigating stairs, pathways, and campus terrain. * Provides a consistent, approachable, and supportive presence that contributes to students' sense of safety, belonging, and trust. * Demonstrates professionalism, ethical conduct, and continuous learning aligned with the College's values and standards. Incident Response & Support * Responds promptly and professionally to all safety and security concerns, service requests, and dispatched calls to support an orderly and respectful campus environment. * Assesses and responds to incidents using sound judgment, calm demeanor, and appropriate discretion, including: * Observing, identifying, and appropriately engaging individuals involved in incidents; * Coordinating with local law enforcement, fire, and EMS when necessary; * Responding to emergencies such as medical incidents, fire alarms, and hazardous situations; * Determining when outside assistance is required and initiating appropriate notifications. * Aids individuals who are sick, injured, or in distress until appropriate assistance arrives. * Documents incidents accurately and thoroughly through written reports, including all incidents, accidents, and security breaches, ensuring clarity, accountability, and continuity of care. Community Engagement & Service * Assists and directs students, faculty, staff, and visitors by providing information and instructions in a clear, courteous, and respectful manner. * Promotes a positive image of Rosemont College by offering hospitable and professional assistance, including providing directions, campus information, and reasonable aid within the Officer's scope. * Engages with students, faculty, and staff during patrols to promote awareness of safety practices, risk prevention, and campus resources. Facilities, Equipment & Systems * Provides building security services, including locking and unlocking facilities in accordance with College procedures. * Operates and monitors communications systems including radios, Direct Connect devices, and other approved equipment. * Conducts routine testing and inspections of safety systems and equipment. * Works collaboratively with Facilities, alarm vendors, and external technicians to support campus safety infrastructure. Traffic, Events & Campus Operations * Enforces campus parking and traffic policies and procedures in accordance with Rosemont College regulations and applicable state laws. * Supports safe campus traffic and parking operations and provides crowd management and safety support for events and special activities. Communication & Continuity * Maintains daily activity logs and accurately completes all departmental forms and reports. * Prepares clear, timely, and factual written documentation for all incidents, accidents, security concerns, and policy violations. * Ensures effective shift-to-shift communication by briefing incoming officers on relevant information. Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Coordination * Works collaboratively with campus partners to support a holistic, proactive, and student-centered approach to safety, care, and community well-being. * Coordinates as appropriate with departments including, but not limited to: * Student Affairs and Residence Life (student welfare, behavioral concerns, housing safety); * Academic Affairs and faculty (classroom safety, academic events, student support); * Alumni Relations and Advancement (events, visitors, campus hospitality); * Campus Ministry (pastoral care, crisis response, and community support); * Facilities and Environmental Services (infrastructure, hazards, and emergency response); * Athletics and Recreation (event safety, crowd management, and participant welfare). * Participates in cross-functional planning, incident response, and post-incident reviews to continuously improve campus safety practices and coordination.
