The SecuritySpecialist position directly supports the US Security Organization for all ongoing activities that serve to provide appropriate access to, and protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of employee and business information in compliance with organization policies, procedures and regulatory requirements including NERC's Cyber Security Standards. The ideal candidate will also be equally capable of maintaining the necessary documentation, logs, and change management systems required by the US Security standards, with support from the AES Clean Energy compliance team.
Specifically, this position is responsible for performing security assessments (physical and cyber), developing security designs, implementation of security designs, and maintenance of physical security infrastructure (Access Control, Video Surveillance, Perimeter Fencing, & Motion Detection systems) that support the operations at AES Clean Energy sites throughout the US.
The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of security assessment methodology, access control systems and video surveillance systems. General working knowledge of computer networking concepts is required. In addition, the primary duties and responsibilities include:
* Perform security assessments at AES Clean Energy sites throughout the US.
* Design, maintain, troubleshoot, configure and engineer industry-based Physical Access Control Systems (PACS). These systems include Kantech, Tattletale, HID, AWID, Honeywell, Vicon, Exacqvision, etc.
* Maintain, troubleshoot, configure and engineer closed-circuit IP-based camera systems.
* Process troubleshooting requests and repairs for PACS and camera systems.
* Replace and install PACS and camera system hardware and software in a utility-based environment.
* Safely work from heights exceeding 15 feet.
* Install, maintain, configure and troubleshoot PACS and camera management operating systems, including Windows and Linux.
* Conduct routine hardware and software audits of all supported security devices to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and requirements.
* Work with vendors, application developers, database administrators, corporate IT, and other technology groups to resolve any problems.
* Participate in the Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT).
* Participate in disaster recovery planning, development, exercises, and actual events.
* The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and responds to requests for supporting information.

Public Safety Officers are assigned to a specific shift; they must patrol a certain area of assignment, including but not limited to a patrol area, roving patrol (vehicle), parking lot, foot beat, fixed post, residence hall, Public Safety Headquarters, or other assignments, as directed by a Public Safety Shift Supervisor, Shift Manager, Assistant Director or the Director of Public Safety & Security.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Enforce rules and regulations, as mandated by SJU, and in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines; conducting patrols, security checks, traffic enforcement, property accountability, security escorts, and building safety and access control.
Responsible for opening/closing and securing buildings and classrooms, as directed; respond to calls for service, including but not limited to disturbances, loud music, alcohol violations, sick assists, burglar/fire alarms.
Conduct initial investigations and complete Incident Reports, as directed by a Public Safety Shift Supervisor; preparing handwritten forms neatly, accurately and completely, including but not limited to patrol logs, guest logs, key control logs and patrol cards; assist with on-the-job training of other personnel.
Maintain positive communication and professional conduct when responding to incidents and interacting with students, employees and visitors; honesty, integrity and service are important characteristics of a Public Safety Officer.
Comply with the rules and regulations of the University and the OPSS; maintain, account for and properly care for all property, equipment and uniforms issued during employment; be consistently dependable with attendance.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma
A minimum of three years of experience in law enforcement, military, security or related field
Pennsylvania Act 235 Certification
Valid driver's license
Ability to operate a motor vehicle
Must have the ability to be professional and courteous when interacting with students, employees, visitors and the public

Job Description
* Welcome and respond to all inquiries from visitors, students, faculty, and staff and act in a friendly and helpful manner.

* Monitor designated areas using a range of techniques such as floor-walking and operating security camera systems.
* Patrol assigned area(s), prepare a Daily Patrol Log, chronologically listing all activities, incidents, and action taken during shift; also, prepare written reports completely on prescribed forms, or word process on a computer.

When needed issue daily situational representations, answer calls for service, dispatch personnel in accordance with outlined procedures, generate emergency notifications for the College's emergency management team and predesignated stakeholders.

* Follow the 32 CFR Part 117 National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directive (ICD), and other government regulations to administer aspects of the Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence, and other industrial security programs while ensuring compliance with government and ARL security policies and procedures
* Prepare SF86/ eApplication (eAPP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) customer nomination packages, and coordinate with customer security representatives to process security clearance requirements
* Prepare and issue subcontractor DD254s and visit authorization letters (VALs), validate/coordinate cleared visitors, and create/program employee badges
* Interface with program management to address specific security items for each program/contract, protect classified government information, monitor security procedures, and ensure compliance with all program aspects, including personnel, physical, and administrative security systems and procedures
* Interpret security policies and directives, develop and conduct various security and security education program briefings, and provide guidance and train employees on access, classification, marking, and record maintenance

* Maintain alarm system including updates, combination changes, and records
* Maintain files for customers and audits

Required skills/experience areas include:
* Active security clearance, at the Top-Secret level or higher with the ability to obtain SCI eligibility
