Essential Job Duties The main purpose of the NC State University Police Officer position is to protect and serve the students, faculty, staff and visitors of North Carolina State University through law enforcement and crime prevention. The selected candidate(s) will patrol campus and investigate complaints and violations of State laws and local ordinances. This person also develops and implements preventative patrol techniques and performs specialized duties to deter crime and promote effective safety and security practices. UNC Police is seeking to hire qualified individuals as sworn Reserve Police Officers to serve in a part-time capacity. The Reserve Police Officer positions will be required to work a minimum of three (3) home football games, four (4) home basketball games, and two (2) additional events such as plays, concerts, lectures, and celebrations. The Reserve Officers do not work on patrol squads and do not assist with patrol shift coverage. The Reserve Police Officers are uniformed police positions and must adhere to the Department's General Orders (G.O.). All uniforms, duty belts, and appropriate departmentally issued duty gear are provided; the applicant must provide their own shoes in accordance with G.O. These are at-will, intermittent temporary positions.
