This position provides a high level of customer service to all airport stakeholders on a daily basis. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Depending on training and certifications, attend training (both onsite and offsite) related to law enforcement, EMS, ARFF, physical fitness activities, and aviation related learning. Patrol roadways, runways, taxiways, front drive, parking lots, fuel farms, A.O.A. and all airport property, buildings, fence line and facilities daily and conduct fuel farm, truck and building inspections (depending on experience and certifications). Enforce and comply with applicable state, local and federal laws, F.A.A. and T.S.A. requirements, Authority ordinances and any other regulations or legislation as required. (depending on experience and certifications). Perform ARFF, police, fire or medical assistance for the airport authority and outside agencies as directed or approved by shift commander (depending on experience and certifications). Perform daily and weekly vehicle inspections and equipment inspections as required, ensuring any problems are reported for repair. Respond to emergencies when on-duty or from on shift off-duty status. Provide emergency medical assistance and services to injured and/or ill persons as required (depending on experience and certifications). Perform foot patrol of terminal, Authority offices, information center and all airport owned properties providing regular Public Safety presence in the terminal and ensuring all areas are secure daily (depending on experience and certifications). Perform initial investigation and complete various reports, maintain records, and may testify in court as required (depending on experience and certifications). Inspect commercial vehicles to ensure compliance with authority requirements for marking, vehicle condition and safety, and insurance. Carry out vehicle inspections for security sensitive areas. Perform routine, daily Safety facility clean-up activities and may perform minor maintenance. Drive the airfield regularly for continued familiarization of rules and regulations. Provide regular Public Safety presence in the terminal. Maintain intra- and inter-departmental cooperation and teamwork. Maintain professional and technical knowledge and attend all scheduled training, conferences, and seminars to stay current in the field. Physical Requirements Requires physical fitness to perform law enforcement and fire rescue duties including lifting and carrying weights of 165 pounds or more and working in confined spaces and from heights. Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds. Position requires frequent reaching with hands and arms, standing, and walking. Ability to occasionally climb, kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, and crawl are required. Ability to sit for constant periods of time. Reporting to the Director of Public Safety the Public Safety Officer (PSO) is responsible, to ensure the safety and security of colleagues, patients, visitors and their property while at Goshen Health. The PSO is additionally responsible to protect corporate assets of Goshen Health and its satellite locations. The PSO position is a 24/7 service, with primary responsibility to the Goshen Hospital campus and surrounding Goshen Health facilities. Reports to the Director. Responsible for providing a safe, secure and effective environment of care. Generally assigned to the Emergency Trauma Center (ETC), this environment is sustained by monitoring Hospital facilities, properties, and functions in order to protect property, patients, visitors, and employees from hazardous conditions, physical harm, trespassing, vandalism, sabotage, fire, and/or theft. Inspecting equipment, doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure. * Responding to emergency situations throughout the Hospital property such as fire, disturbances, accidents, criminal activity, disasters, bomb searches, etc. and involving external resources or agencies as necessary. Enforce security procedures and maintain a log of activities during such incidents. Conducting investigations and generating reports as deemed appropriate and/or required. * Responding to duress alarms, parking lot call boxes, building alarms, door alarms, and patient behavioral health-related requests for assistance. * Restricting access to visitors and staff in accordance with current Hospital policy and regulating parking in Hospital lots. * Summoning external law enforcement agencies as appropriate. * Initiating and coordinating the ETC Lock Down Procedure, jointly with the ETC Physician and Charge Nurse, in the event of receiving a patient who was the victim of a violent crime. Supports Department functions by: * Providing escort services for employees, visitors, and patients throughout the Hospital campus. * Enforcing parking rules and regulations in Hospital lots, mainly the ETC parking areas. * Conducting screening of individuals entering the ETC, limiting access to the facility as appropriate, and providing assistance as requested. * Conducting preliminary investigations on incidents occurring in the ETC and at the Hospital and submitting appropriate reports. Documenting all routine functions and duties on a daily activity report. Reporting accidents, hazards, and other incidents as appropriate. * Testifying during hearings and other legal proceedings, presenting information and accounts on incidents which have occurred on the Hospital's property, as required. Ensures Hospital safety by: * Reporting observed safety hazards and unsafe conditions of facilities. * Initiating emergency response procedures and alarms, as appropriate, in the ETC and throughout the Hospital facility and grounds, utilizing safety equipment in order to correct or control the incident. * Maintaining knowledge and compliance with safety and security-related policies and procedures. * Participating in drills, training, and education as deemed appropriate, participating in evaluation, review, and quality improvement processes of the department and the Security Management Plan. * Completing mandatory in-services and training sessions as required. * Maintaining equipment and property as necessary and/or as assigned. Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by: * Completing other job-related duties and projects as assigned. Two to three years of industrial or health care security experience with evidence of training in laws of arrest, detention, and rules of evidence. This position will focus on the site management and installation of security solutions for new and existing clients while working alongside internal teams, external teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure project success. Responsibilities * Installs, tests, and troubleshoots new CCTV, access control, and security systems. * Ensures that systems are installed properly and on time in accordance with Kastle's procedures and quality control standards. * Provides feedback and information to identify any potential barriers to timely execution of the project, such as construction delays or changes. * Provides accurate documentation for completed work. * Maintains assigned company-owned vehicles, tools, equipment, and individual tool issue. * Maintains and protects building keys to customer buildings. * Communicates with customers, customer representatives, contractors and Kastle staff as necessary to install and test equipment. * Stays up to date and knowledgeable in Kastle services, technology as well as internal processes and procedures. Qualifications * Hands‑on experience with hand and power tools. * Mechanical aptitude and ability to use metering devices. * Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and carry tools and equipment not to exceed seventy‑five pounds. * Must be able to distinguish colors. * Must be able to interface and communicate with customers and co‑workers in a clear and professional manner. * Candidate must be able to use MS Word, Excel, etc. * Ability to follow the installation, testing, and troubleshooting procedures outlined by i2G. * Must be available to work overtime, weeknights, and/or weekends when necessary. * Must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver's license to fulfill the travel requirements of this position. Coordinate the investigation of criminal cases and violations involving hunting and fishes. Warn or arrest persons violating the laws and issue tickets to violators. Apply the appropriate level of direction and control to protect life, property, facilities and maintain public peace and order at public gatherings and events. Direct and control traffic around accidents and other disruptions as needed. Provide first aide at the scene of accidents, medical assistance calls, domestic violence calls, and as needed in other situations. Be a current state certified police officer. Must have successfully passed basic recruit training and firearms qualifications. If not currently MCOLES and ILEA certified must obtain within a reasonable amount of time. Bureau of Indiana Affairs Special Deputation Training and Certification required or obtain within a reasonable amount of time. Ability to rigorous physical examination and background check required. Experience working with Native American communities preferred. Proficiency with MS Office Applications required.
