Hourly Rate: $21.14 Schedule: Monday - Friday (must be flexible with hours) Job Summary: The FT Air Courier Messenger is responsible for escorting customer cargo/liability from plane side to customer location and to/from the Brinks facility to customer locations while providing armed security for the same. This position functions in an armed environment and requires the enforcement of rules to protect the premises and property of Brink's. Additionally this role functions to protect and ensure the safety of customer and armored vehicles in transit, as well as the safety of persons on the premises of Brink's and its customers, including armored vehicles. Finally this position requires the selected candidate to be able to provide outstanding customer service to all BGS customers when delivering liability and assisting them with their shipping needs. Key Responsibilities: Receive daily delivery routes and work closely with branch leadership both on the BGS and CIT side of the business to ensure all paperwork and liability related documentation is accurate prior to leaving the branch. Maintain a position on tarmac in order to monitor shipments being transferred on and off of the aircraft. Provide secured delivery of all customer liability and ensure that each customer receives outstanding level of service during each transaction/interaction. Ensure that all liability is appropriately secured and maintained inside and outside the company vehicle. Assist the location Sort Operation as necessary in the movement of liability and other secured valuables from the facility to the vehicles and back. Ensure that all DOT regulations are maintained and followed as well as all traffic regulations and relative guidelines. Enforce and report all security or safety violations to the Supervisor of Operations or Operations Manager as well as any unusual and suspicious situations that have occurred during daily assignments. Provide security by adhering to the General Security Regulations and other directives handed down by the management Cross-train and perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 6 months of experience as a courier or guard working a secured logistics environment or where valuable liability is stored and managed. Must be a minimum of 21 years of age A current & valid driver's license. Satisfy all applicable Department of Transportation requirements A valid weapons permit or ability to pass applicable weapons licensing requirements. A valid guard card or ability to obtain a guard card or any other required licenses Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a consistent and regular basis throughout the assigned shift. Ability to work weekends and flexible range of hours as needed including holidays. Boynton Beach Police Officers serve a highly diverse and multicultural community, which includes African Americans, Hispanics, French Creoles, Indigenous Americans, and Asians among its more than 75,000 residents. Officers carry out these responsibilities by: patrolling an assigned area; responding to emergency calls; resolving conflicts; engaging in community policing and community relations, investigating crimes; rendering medical assistance; writing reports (using, software, computers, portable technology devices, and mobile data computers); handling crises or stressful situations, which may involve juveniles, the elderly, or the disabled; testifying in court; and enforcing Florida State laws and City Ordinances. Officers do this individually and sometimes as a member of a team, under direction of a supervisor. NATURE OF WORK This is generalized law enforcement and public safety work in the prevention of crime, protection of life and property, and apprehension of criminal offenders. An incumbent in this classification of work is responsible for performing tasks of more than average difficulty involving the protection of life and property. After completion of an initial training period, the employee is responsible for enforcing federal, state and local laws, and performing related police activities. Incumbents are involved in either patrolling an assigned area in a radio-equipped vehicle, or performing administrative, communications, public information and/or complaint duties. Paid Time Off 1) PTO = Paid Time Off o At the department's discretion and approval, regular part-time employees may use PTO. o PTO may be used for sick or vacation time-off requests. 2) Employee must work a full fiscal quarter before they are eligible for any PTO: Fiscal Year Quarters Applicable Months 1st Quarter January - March 2nd Quarter April - June 3rd Quarter July - September 4th Quarter October - December 3) PTO earned per fiscal quarter will be earned in accordance with the following accrual table: Bi-Weekly Average Hours Worked PTO Earned 8 to 13.99 2 hours 14.00 to 26.99 4 hours 27.00 to 39.99 6 hours 40.00 + 8 hours * Maximum PTO that may be earned in a fiscal quarter is 8 hours (Total of 32 max hours per year) 4) PTO earned will be calculated and posted to employee's leave accruals on the month following the end of the fiscal quarter. o Calculation will be based on check dates within a fiscal quarter. 5) Employees may use PTO in four (4) hour increments only. 6) PTO must be requested the business day before requested time off. 7) Employees must use PTO earned in a fiscal year by the end of the following fiscal year or accrued time will be forfeited. 8) There will be no payouts upon separation of service and no cash outs of accumulated time. 9) Any PTO used within a fiscal quarter will not count as time worked for future calculations of any benefit. 10) PTO balances will not transfer with the employee if they go to full-time status. o Employees that transfer to full-time status are treated as new hires. o Regular part-time employees will have the ability to request time off in Kronos. o Regular part-time employees in the Police or Fire Rescue departments will have the ability to request time off in Telestaff. 11) A new PTO code has been set-up in Tyler Munis for payroll processing. 12) Seasonal staff and interns are not eligible to receive PTO. HOLIDAYS 1) Part-time employees are eligible to earn 4 hours of holiday pay for each official City-observed holiday. o Currently ten (10) City holidays (4) hours of paid Holidays for a total of 40 hours per year). o Employees receive four (4) hours of Holiday pay regardless of how many hours they work. o No look-back period would be applicable. 2) If employee works on a City holiday, the employee will get paid for the actual hours worked plus receive four (4) hours of holiday pay. 3) If an employee is scheduled to work on a City holiday and calls out or fails to show up for work, the employee will not be eligible to receive holiday pay. 4) Holiday pay does not count as time worked. 5) A new PTO code has been set-up in Tyler Munis for payroll processing. 6) Seasonal staff and interns are not eligible to receive holiday pay. 01 Can you provide proof that you graduated from an accredited high school or received a G.E.D. equivalency diploma?
