* or at least four (4) cumulative years of active military service with the Armed Services of the United States with an honorable discharge;
* or a current Delaware Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission certified police officer with four (4) years full-time police experience;
* or a current out-of-state police certification with two (2) years full-time police experience and thirty (30) credit hours from an accredited college or university;

•Patrols Jefferson Buildings and campus areas. Makes unscheduled checks of campus sensitive and high-risk areas. Periodically checks specific campus locations for security violations, unauthorized persons, and dangerous conditions.
•Provides on-campus escorts as requested. Reports any security or safety concerns in writing to the shift supervisor.
•Produces incident reports for complaints and incidents; ensures written record is submitted before the end of his/her shift.
•Consults and advises crime victims focusing on "due process" or methods of reporting crimes to the appropriate authorities (local Police, District Attorney, etc.) and/or to initiate arrest warrants as necessary.
•Interacts with local police, or other law enforcement agencies relative to criminal offenses and complaints, and when subpoenaed testifies in court litigation proceedings.
•Assigned to security details, VIP protection, and crowd control for special events.
•Interacts with law enforcement authorities for special events.
•Provides assistance as a member of the Emergency Response Team in events such as: fires, bomb threats, explosions, or other life threatening or crime related situations.
•Performs other related security duties, including but limited to: responds to calls for service, takes commands, and document all security incidents with a written report; assists all victims of crime on Jefferson campus; ensures all visitors comply with visiting regulations and escort all unauthorized persons from campus; other police/security duties as directed by Lieutenant.

Required Qualifications
