Our Outreach team is looking for a part-time staff member to join our team. We are looking for candidates who want to travel throughout the county to connect and help our unhoused community members. The outreach specialist will be expected to engage individual's experiencing homelessness and assist them in accessing self-identified needs, such as, health, housing, behavioral health and basic needs. We are looking to fill 1 part time position at 20-25 hours per week.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE:
Build rapport and connect with individuals who are living unsheltered, with the goal of connecting them
to supportive services.
Refer clients into case management, coordinated entry, or other agency programs, as appropriate.
Work with program coordinator to develop strategies on reducing the stigma regarding individuals with
opioid use disorder in the community.
Input and maintain information regarding referrals in database. Keep detailed case notes of client
interactions.
Build effective relationships with treatment providers and community partners for warm hand-offs, as
well as, assisting individuals in accessing appropriate resources related to pursuing recovery and
attending appointments.
Provide transportation resources to access treatment services and/or support in getting to an
appointments.
Provide on-going education and advocacy for individuals experiencing opioid use disorder, including
information on overdosing, Narcan, and Fentanyl testing strips.
Assist clients in navigating the intake system for treatment services.
Coordinate with case management staff to meet the individual needs of new and existing program
participants;
Assist program coordinator with collection, entry, and tracking of impact data.
Assist with recruiting, training, and onboarding volunteers.
Attends Community Action staff meetings and other meetings and trainings as required.
Other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
Education & Experience:

RESPONSIBILITIES will include:
*Speaking with the customer to explain job details, answer questions and ensure dry checks get scheduled.
*Work in small tight spaces; i.e. attics, or crawl spaces.
*Water extraction.
*Removal of damaged materials; i.e.: wet drywall, moldy drywall, carpet when applicable, floors of any material when applicable, Cabinetry when applicable, etc.
*Bag and haul debris out of the home and to the dump.
*Place drying equipment and perform dry checks for the following days of drying for that job.
*Smoke and odor removal when applicable.
*Fire damage clean ups.
*Biohazard clean ups.
*Equipment maintenance and up keep.
*Keeping work areas clean and presentable.
*Drive company vehicles while maintaining the laws of the road.
Experience with MICA and or other applications is a plus. WRT/ASD certifications are preferred but, not required for hiring.
