Overview
Assists with preparing pricing analyses, reserve analyses, experience, and profitability reviews and/or state rate filings, and support of business units and other departments as needed. Builds actuarial and business expertise, including the pursuit of the FCAS designation. This position will be associated with specific department functions. This role will be involved in several of the items below. The specific items will depend upon the department (pricing versus reserving). All job duties must be carried out in compliance with internal controls and departmental review requirements. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Note: (For NJ candidates) This role will be located at our future headquarters in Short Hills, N.J. Until the new headquarters is operational, the successful candidate will be offered the ability to work in our Branchville, N.J. location during this interim period.
Responsibilities
* Assist in preparing rate indications and recommendations. Participate in discussions with Corporate and/or Field Underwriting to develop recommendations. Prepare rate filings, working cooperatively with other areas such as Underwriting and Legal.
* Assist with monitoring price levels and profitability through periodic analyses. Assist in developing and delivering tools to drive appropriate policy level decision making.
* Apply advanced statistical concepts by assisting in the development of complex rating plan or other loss models, with direction from experienced modeler. Develop an acumen in advanced analytics.
* Assist in product development by estimating impacts of new or enhanced coverages and preparing rate pages and filing support.
* Assist in preparing actuarial premium indications for individual large accounts.
* Assist with quarterly loss and LAE reserve analyses. With appropriate guidance, prepare data files and templates. Analyze loss trends and develop preliminary projections of ultimate losses and IBNR for review by supervisor.
* Assist in the preparation of designated external and internal financial and management reports. These include but are not limited to 10-K/Q disclosures, statutory schedules (P), and the "AY Report". Prepare routine reports and other submissions (e.g., data calls, excess profits).
* Support ceded reinsurance placement by providing information and data for broker submissions. Prepare routine data submissions. Populate and run reinsurance pricing templates.
* Prepare data, populate templates, and design non-complex Excel and Access applications. Identify opportunities for automation and implement with supervisor approval.
* Develop a foundational knowledge of the functions performed by the Actuarial department and how the department relates to other functional areas of the organization.

* College Degree in Actuarial Science, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or another analytical field preferred.

Overview
NJM Insurance Group is looking for several dynamic, energetic interns who are eager to learn about our company by assisting various projects in the Actuarial department. As an Actuarial Intern, you will be assigned to one of the main teams in the department: Personal Auto Pricing, Property Pricing, Commercial Lines pricing, or Reserving.

Overview
The Actuarial Associate, Insurance Risk Modeling plays a critical role in shaping the firm's understanding of insurance liabilities and risk exposures. This individual will design, enhance, and validate advanced liability models that drive pricing, valuation, asset-liability management (ALM), and hedging strategies across the enterprise.
This is a hands-on, highly analytical role at the intersection of actuarial science, quantitative finance, and risk management - ideal for an actuary who wants to build scalable modeling solutions and influence key financial and strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain insurance liability models within GA Risk's proprietary modeling platform to support pricing, valuation, ALM, and hedging functions.
* Perform scenario and stress testing under multiple reporting frameworks (GAAP, Statutory, Economic, Bermuda), analyzing the interaction between actuarial and market risks.
* Onboard new Institutional transactions onto the Risk platform, ensuring accurate integration of liability data and consistent modeling methodologies.
* Validate and review actuarial models - challenge assumptions, assess methodologies, and strengthen control frameworks to meet internal governance and regulatory standards.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including Pricing, Valuation, Investments, and Hedging - to translate complex modeling results into clear, actionable risk insights.
* Support new product launches by ensuring risk models remain current with rate updates, product enhancements, and emerging market conditions.
* Develop quantitative tools and analytics that enable the Risk team to assess and challenge existing modeling and risk management practices constructively.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Finance, or related field).
* 5+ years of actuarial or quantitative modeling experience in life and annuity insurance, financial services, or consulting.
* Professional designation (FSA/ASA/CFA/FRM) strongly preferred.
* Proven experience building or maintaining complex insurance liability models.
* Solid understanding of life and annuity products, including the drivers of both actuarial and market risks.
* Experience in hedging, ALM, or risk-based capital frameworks preferred.
* Proficiency in Python or another modern programming language highly desirable.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to synthesize technical insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The Actuarial Associate, Insurance Risk Modelling is instrumental in developing insurance liability models used in pricing, valuation, hedging and ALM.
Responsibilities:
* Develop insurance liability models in GA Risk's liability modelling platform.
* Communicate findings and implications to Risk's management team and other stakeholders

Profile Responsibilities:
Partner with key stakeholders from the actuarial, finance, tax, treasury, growth and investment areas to foster a model risk aware culture across the company
