Key Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with DOR Consumer, Program Coordinator, DOR SVRC-QRP, parent(s), therapist, teachers, and/or other involved or appropriate supports, to ensure more successful outcomes for DOR Consumers
Surveys the community labor market to identify the types of jobs that appear to be within the capacity of DOR participants. Trains and supports participant in preparation to be placed in a Work Experience setting.
Monitors and evaluates the DOR participants in work experience, conducts on-site job visitations of DOR participants.
Communicates with employers during students' employment and reports results to appropriate staff and/or faculty.
Provides input to monthly progress notes that are submitted to the DOR counselor
Keep Program Coordinator informed of all relevant factors relating to the DOR Consumer and training needs.
Participates in all contract-related and required meetings, trainings, and supervisory sessions.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Education and Employment Specialist will provide education and employment services to youth at-risk of, or currently experiencing homelessness, to assist them in obtaining positive educational outcomes, developing career plans and attaining and maintaining employment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Provide direct education and employment services to youth aged 18 to 25 years.
Work with youth to develop their individualized education and employment case plans.
Assign, administer and review all elements of the education and employment plan; including GED, high school, further education enrollment, career planning, resume writing, interview techniques, life skill development, etc
Develop education and life skill programming specific to job readiness and preparation.
Plan and coordinate guest speakers and workshop presenters.
Supervise and/or facilitate groups and other activities.
Market, develop, outreach and cultivate job and/or internship openings with hiring managers, human resource personnel and business owners for hiring of youth with various employment and educational backgrounds, including ex-offenders
Plan, arrange and oversee outings to education and job fairs, and other field trips
Assist youth in dealing effectively with personal and interpersonal issues as they arise.
Maintain supportive contact with youth who achieve and/or graduate from their education and employment case plan and establish a youth alumni to provide peer support to youth undertaking educational and employment services at SPY.
Assist staff and management in the assignment and coordination of duties and tasks for volunteer involvement.
Prepare month end reports and funding reports and other administrative duties as well as the creation of education and employment development aids.
Participate in staff meetings, team meetings and other community meetings as needed.
Other duties as assigned to support the mission of the program and organization.
Requirements:
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Bachelor's degree and 2 years experience in social service setting with youth desirable is preferred, but not required.
Minimum of 2 year experience in an educator or employment services environment is required.
1-2 years of experience with client engagement is preferred.
1-2 years of experience leading workshops in job readiness, employment education, filling our resumes and cover letters is preferred.
1-2 years of experience working in homeless services is preferred.
1-2 years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is preferred.
Strong computer skills and knowledge including word processing, database operations, spreadsheets and other software systems.
Ability to coordinate and/or oversee the successful completion of projects.
Experience working with homeless and at-risk youth.
Good verbal and written communication skills, including organizational, detail, and interpersonal.
Must have reliable transportation, valid California driver's license and proof of current insurance.

ITSM Process Ownership & Governance - Define, mature, and own global ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change) ensuring alignment with ITIL best practices that are right-sized to Pacific Life.
Change Management - Oversee the enterprise Change Management process. Chair the weekly Change Advisory Board (CAB), reviewing changes for risk, conflicts, and business impact. Drive adoption of risk-based change practices to reduce failed changes, minimize disruption, and align with audit and compliance requirements.
Major Incident Leadership - Oversee and lead high-impact incidents, ensuring rapid restoration of service and clear communication with executives and stakeholders pre- and post-Incident.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Education and Employment Specialist (EES) is energetic and youth-centered and passionate about supporting current and former foster youth in reaching their educational and employment goals. The EES manages a caseload of up to 30 youth in the My First Place housing program, providing targeted employment and education case management within a team setting. The EES supports youth in developing goals related to post-secondary education, career development and obtaining and maintaining a living wage. The EES must have knowledge in youth-centered approaches to support the development of skills in securing and maintaining employment along with a solid understanding of traditional school, post-secondary, vocational and apprenticeship education systems. Additionally, the EES is responsible for forming and maintaining relationships with local employers, educational programs and community resources to support job linkages. The EES must be able to influence, teach and motivate youth while understanding coaching principals to guide them through the stages of change. The EES performs both one-on-one support and group-based work and leads education and employment events for the My First-Place program. The EES works in partnership with the Youth Advocate position to coordinate targeted support to youth. This position is required to work onsite and in the community Monday - Friday.
DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support youth to identify and work toward employment and educational goals that
support independence.
Meet with individual youth regularly to develop career related goals and identify steps to achieve goals, including post-secondary education planning. Provide continuous coaching, identify barriers and develop joint plans to achieve success with youth and Youth Advocate.
Lead workshops related to career education, job seeking skills and other pre- and post-employment related skills such as resume development, dressing for success, interviewing and job maintenance.
Document and track all meetings with youth by creating case notes within internal database and within required timelines.
Coach youth participants on handling work-related issues and promote self-advocacy.
Assess educational status and interests of youth participants through standard assessments and in 1:1 session with youth. Work with youth on their individualized educational goals focusing on self-sufficiency and identify short-term steps towards reaching these goals.
Complete initial and annual assessments with youth participants within program timelines.
Plan, organize and lead monthly events for youth.
Develop individualized plans with each unique youth considering their individual cultural identity, background and experience.
Establish and maintain external collaborations with individuals and businesses to develop
employment opportunities for youth.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization and within respective departments.
Administrative
Complete documentation including Action Plans, assessments and progress notes within required timelines.
Attend weekly program meetings, monthly agency staff meetings, and individual weekly
supervision with Program Manager or the EE Supervisor.
Regularly monitor employment and education data and use data to identify trends and present findings to the team.
Participate in agency committees as assigned.
Provide on-going orientation and training to staff as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, education or related field required
One year of experience working with youth in career development and job placement capacities.
A strong dedication to cultural competency that creates conditions that remove barriers and increase a sense of belonging.
Two years of full-time social work or casework in family or child welfare services preferred.
Excellent knowledge of education and employment resources for youth in the Bay Area
General knowledge of the issues facing Transition Aged homeless youth.
High level of personal accountability for the quality and impact of work.
Excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills.
Willingness to work collaboratively, but with the capacity to work independently.
Must have a dependable car, valid driver's license, and proof of insurance.
Must be willing to meet clients in-person at the office or in the field as needed.
Must be able to pass a Community Care Licensing background check

QUALIFICATIONS
Occupational Therapist with minimum 2 years' experience working with children and TAY-aged clients with mental illness in various settings, OR
Master's degree in psychology, sociology, social work, special education or human services with 3 or more years' experience providing educational and vocational support.
Supervised clinical hours available if needed.
Experience in assessing clients' educational and/or employment needs and recommending strategies to assist clients meeting their goals.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Education and Employment Specialist will provide education and employment services to youth at-risk of, or currently experiencing homelessness, to assist them in obtaining positive educational outcomes, developing career plans and attaining and maintaining employment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Provide direct education and employment services to youth aged 18 to 25 years.
Work with youth to develop their individualized education and employment case plans.
Assign, administer and review all elements of the education and employment plan; including GED, high school, further education enrollment, career planning, resume writing, interview techniques, life skill development, etc
Develop education and life skill programming specific to job readiness and preparation.
Plan and coordinate guest speakers and workshop presenters.
Supervise and/or facilitate groups and other activities.
Market, develop, outreach and cultivate job and/or internship openings with hiring managers, human resource personnel and business owners for hiring of youth with various employment and educational backgrounds, including ex-offenders
Plan, arrange and oversee outings to education and job fairs, and other field trips
Assist youth in dealing effectively with personal and interpersonal issues as they arise.
Maintain supportive contact with youth who achieve and/or graduate from their education and employment case plan and establish a youth alumni to provide peer support to youth undertaking educational and employment services at SPY.
Assist staff and management in the assignment and coordination of duties and tasks for volunteer involvement.
Prepare month end reports and funding reports and other administrative duties as well as the creation of education and employment development aids.
Participate in staff meetings, team meetings and other community meetings as needed.

Requirements:
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Bachelor's degree and 2 years experience in social service setting with youth desirable is preferred, but not required.
Minimum of 2 year experience in an educator or employment services environment is required.
1-2 years of experience with client engagement is preferred.
1-2 years of experience leading workshops in job readiness, employment education, filling our resumes and cover letters is preferred.
1-2 years of experience working in homeless services is preferred.
1-2 years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is preferred.
