Job Description:
Assists surgeon with procedures related to the care of patient of all ages during surgical intervention.
Assists in the coordination of treatments with other disciplines.
Provides basic patient assistance.
Connects patients to clinical equipment as needed.
Practices aseptic techniques while preparing for surgery including scrubbing, applying surgical gown, gloving, draping and setting up instrument table.
Actively participates in surgical Time and out and operationg room briefing according to the universal protocol.
Identifies correct surgical site with the circulating registered nurse and surgeon before incision of operative procedures.
Maintains an accurate account of supplies including sponges, needles and instruments.
Verifies count with the circulating nurse at end of procedure.
Prepares, identifies and verifies all specimens obtained during the surgical procedure.
Disposes of linens, needles and sharps in appropriate containers.
Assesses wounds and applies or changes sterile dressing as instructed by the registered nurse.
Maintains and documents universal precautions.
Initiates emergency procedures.
Participates in the admission and discharge process.
Performs billing as appropriate for services rendered or equipment used.
Participates in on-call rotations of operating room.
Acts as a preceptor for students assigned to the surgical unit.
Adheres to all policies, protocols and standards of care.
Performs quality control monitoring.

Most tasks are performed from a standing position. Walking surfaces include ceramic tile bricks with linoleum in some food process areas. Height of work surfaces is between 36 and 4.

Bulk product deliveries are made twice a week or more and are unloaded by the team member using a hand truck.
Deliveries may include cases of ingredients and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds with dimensions of up to 3' x 1.5'.
Cases are usually lifted from floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72 high.
Carrying
Large cans, weighing 3 pounds, 7 ounces, are carried from the workstation to storage shelves.
Occasionally, pizza sauce weighing 30 pounds is carried from the storage room to the front of the store.
Trays of pizza dough are carried three at a time over short distances, and weigh approximately 12 pounds per tray.
Pushing
To move trays which are placed on dollies.
A stack of trays on a dolly is approximately 24 - 30 and requires a force of up to 7.5 pounds to push.
Trays may also be pulled.
Climbing
Team members must infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder to change prices on signs, wash walls, perform maintenance.
Stooping/Bending
Forward bending at the waist is necessary at the pizza assembly station.
Toe room is present, but workers are unable to flex their knees while standing at this station.
Duration of this position is approximately 30 - 45 seconds at one time, repeated continuously during the day.
Forward bending is also present at the front counter and when stocking ingredients.
Crouching/Squatting
Performed occasionally to stock shelves and to clean low areas.
Reaching
Reaching is performed continuously; up, down and forward.
Workers reach above 72 occasionally to turn on/off oven controls, change prices on sign, and lift and lower objects to and from shelves.
Workers reaching down to perform such tasks as scooping cornmeal from a plastic barrel, or washing dishes.
Workers reach forward when obtaining topping ingredients, cleaning work surfaces, or answering phones.
Hand Tasks
Eye-hand coordination is essential. Use of hands is continuous during the day.
Frequently activities require use of one or both hands. Shaping pizza dough requires frequent and forceful use of forearms and wrists.
Workers must manipulate a pizza peel when removing pizza from the oven, and when using the rolling cutter.
Frequent and/or forceful pinching is required in the assembly of cardboard pizza boxes.

JOB LOCATION: Head Start programs located at the Sunbury Children's Center, 600 Arch Street, Sunbury, PA 17801.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP: The Nutrition Aide / Custodian will report directly to the Regional Team Supervisor and in their absence, to the Head Start Programs Manager.
JOB DEFINITION: The Nutrition Aide / Custodian will be responsible for the pick-up or accepting the food for the lunch-time meal for programs at the Sunbury Children's Center, for helping to serve food, cleaning up of meals, and assistance on maintaining a clean facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shop for breakfast/snack groceries and other items needed in the classroom.
Pick up, transport and/or accept the food for the programs located at the Sunbury Children's Center. Keep food warm or cold until time of serving.
Help to serve food to the children, parent volunteers and CSIU staff.
Clean up after the meals, wash any dishes or containers, prepare containers to send back to the district building.
General center clean-up, e.g., sweep floors, empty trash, clean bathroom, fill Clorox bottles, mop floors, scour sinks, clean mirrors, clean garbage cans, etc.
Return pots and any utensils to the school district, if necessary.
Order paper products from office at least two weeks before items are needed. Keep a running inventory of supplies and store supplies neatly in cupboards, closets and/or shelves.
Post one copy of the school age and early childhood menu in the Center, review one copy and send to the Food and Education Programs Administrative Assistant for any revisions.
Nutrition Aide/Custodian will be notified of any revisions to the lunch menu and will be responsible for seeing that corrections/additions are made.
Send a copy of the menu at the end of each month to the Food and Education Programs Administrative Assistant with any substitutions or revisions recorded.
Follow all Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines and regulations.
Follow all ServSafe guidelines and regulations.
Maintain Safe Serve certification and follow guidelines and regulations from the Department of Ag.
Maintain record keeping in regard to the van mileage and upkeep (gas, inspection, maintenance requests, etc.)
Maintain a current physical on a biennial schedule.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or designee.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A High School Diploma or equivalent General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
Knowledge of CACFP guidelines preferred.
Must have an interest in and concern for children and their families.
Must have a willingness to learn.
Basic knowledge of food preparation and practice good sanitary procedures.
Must have ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, co-workers, community agency personnel, and students/trainees.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:
Current, approved Act 34 (PA State Police), Act 151 (PA Child Abuse Registry) and Act 114-FBI Fingerprint clearances are required and must be renewed at appropriate, specific intervals pursuant to Act 153 of 2014 (revised Act 15 of 2015).
Current, approved Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training certificate showing completion of a minimum of three (3) hours training every five (5) years.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS: Attend and make use of appropriate training as requested by immediate supervisor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to serve food to children and adults in a specified time period.
Sedentary: Able to sit for extended periods of time, occasional walking, standing (as necessary) and strength and ability to lift insulated carriers packed with lunch foods (approx. 50 lbs.).
Dexterity: Finger movements (computer keyboard, calculator), eye-hand coordination (office equipment, etc.).
Audio-Visual Requirements: Within normal range with or without correction.
Is able to move throughout all buildings, floors and grounds.
Worksite Environment: Primarily indoors-office setting with occasional exposure to outdoor elements/climate during the day.
Mental demands: Steady response to unpredictable situations, ability to remain calm and productive during stressful situations. Demonstrates independent judgment, discretion and is able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Ability to travel to various work site locations and meetings as needed.
TIME AND SITE REQUIREMENTS:
This is part-time, non-exempt position and follows the Head Start school-year schedule. This position cannot exceed 29 hours per week or in combination with any additional CSIU part-time positions.
Attendance at work is a requirement of this position; any and all absences must be approved by the immediate supervisor.
