Selmet company history timeline
Selmet was founded by Larry Sharpf in 1983 after a successful career in the aerospace industry.
Selmet has been involved in Continuous Improvement for many years but in May, 2008 a renewed commitment was made that has transformed the company.
In 2011, Selmet was purchased by Blue Point Capital Partners and has experienced major growth since then, expanding facilities from 130,000 square feet to over 220,000 square feet, and employing over 500 people in the Albany and surrounding areas.
April of 2012, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Engines, a division of United Technologies Corporation, recognized Selmet as a UTC Gold Supplier.
July 2012 Selmet celebrated the completion of their 100th Kaizen Event since recommitting the organization to become “World Class”.
