Dr. James Coffin joined SourceMed in December of 2014 as the Chief Executive Officer, bringing with him a wealth of leadership experience in the healthcare and life sciences IT industries. Most recently, Dr. Coffin served as the Worldwide Vice-President, General Manager and Global Practice Leader of Dell's Healthcare and Life Sciences Division. In his six years at Dell, Dr. Coffin transformed the Dell business unit from a PC manufacturer in the HCLS industry into the world's leading provider of healthcare IT services and solutions. During his time at Dell, Dr. Coffin and his team worked closely with a wide variety of leaders in healthcare and life sciences, including major medical centers, academic institutions, major instrument vendors, payers and leading biotech and pharmaceutical companies. He pioneered Dell's efforts to apply leading edge information technology into areas including electronic medical records, data analytics, cloud computing, personalized medicine, claims processing, medical imaging and pharmaceutical and biotech drug discovery. Prior to Dell, Dr. Coffin held several senior leadership positions within IBM, including his last position as Worldwide Vice President for IBM's Healthcare and Life Sciences Industry. In this role, he focused primarily on strategy, worldwide sales, new business development and global partnerships. Dr. Coffin received his Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana Tech University and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Arkansas. He also attended Cambridge University as a Cambridge University Clare Hall Fulbright College Fellow.

Andrew Kasarskis has more than 20 years of broad leadership experience in healthcare, biotech, and academia that includes a strong focus on digital analytics and internationally recognized life sciences research.

As Chief Data Officer (CDO), Andrew is responsible for further optimizing Sema4’s health intelligence platform and orchestrating data use and data science to support research, development, and innovation.

Prior to Sema4, Andrew most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Data Officer of the Mount Sinai Health System, including the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he was responsible for supporting patient care, education, research, and innovation at Mount Sinai through purposeful and appropriate use of the health system’s data assets. Before assuming the CDO role at Mount Sinai, he worked with Founding Director Eric Schadt, now Sema4’s CEO, as Co-Director of the Icahn Institute for Genomics and Multiscale Biology and Vice Chair of the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences, in which he also served as Interim Chair.

Dr. Kasarskis’ collaborative research as Professor in the Departments of Genetics and Genomic Sciences and Population Health Science and Policy at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai focused on methods and technologies for improving health outcomes through better data acquisition and mining to support patient care decisions and therapeutic and diagnostic development. He created and applied technology across many disease and public health areas including pathogen surveillance, autoimmune conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease and asthma, viral infections, and primary prevention of chronic disease.

Prior to Mount Sinai, Andrew held leadership positions at Pacific Biosciences, Sage Bionetworks and Merck. He has published more than 90 research papers.

Andrew holds a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Chemistry from the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Copperman was named to New York magazine’s list of Best Doctors sixteen years in a row. He has been recognized annually by Castle Connolly and SuperDocs as one of the top fertility doctors and by his peers and patient advocacy organizations for his commitment to patient-focused and data-driven care.
