Seminole County Sheriff's Office Leadership

I have been employed with the Seminole County Sheriff's Office since June of 1992. During my tenure, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of different disciplines within our organization. I served as a correctional officer, deputy sheriff, school resource deputy, crimes against children investigator, Sergeant of a special operations section (traffic enforcement, property crime investigations, and code enforcement), Lieutenant of our community services division (crime prevention, Elder services, mental health unit, public information, and domestic violence section), Captain of our uniform patrol division (with responsibility for all uniform deputy sheriffs, property crime investigations, traffic enforcement, volunteer services, and the code enforcement process), Department Director (Major) charged with the leadership of four of our divisions (Patrol, Special Operations, Juvenile Justice, and Community Services), and as of January 2013, I have been appointed to the position of Chief Deputy.

In addition to my full-time responsibilities, I have also served as a flight observer within our aviation section, Senior Drill Instructor within our juvenile boot camp, Honor Guard Commander, Critical Response Team member, and on the auxiliary motorcycle unit.

I am dual certified in the state of Florida to practice both corrections and law enforcement and have worked within both disciplines. From January 2009 until April of 2009, I was selected to attend the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. The FBI National Academy is regarded as the most prestigious law enforcement training available and often the standard prerequisite for senior law enforcement executives.

Dan Purcell is a Lifetime Member / Former Chairman of the Board at International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists, Adjunct Professor at UCF, and Chief at Seminole County Sheriff s Office and is based in Sanford, Florida. He studied at UCF between 2006 and 2008, UCF between 2006 and 2007, and Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute Assoc Inc between 2019 and 2019.

Lisa Spriggs CPA is a Chief, Administrative Services at Seminole County Sheriff s Office and is based in Sanford, Florida. She has worked as Manager, Audit and Consulting at Wynn, Dexter, & Sampey, P.A.; Director, Department of Resource Management at Seminole County Government; and Senior Associate, Audit and Consulting at PwC. Lisa studied at Stetson University between 1984 and 1988.
