Everyday at work is a new opportunity to be shocked about the way tasks are performed. I wish I could share some excitement but these reviews here make total sense with what you will find at Seminole in a daily basis. Don't believe in fake good reviews from other sites written by HR employees forced to do so to clean up media image. Most of executive management and directors are terrible leaders, bad behavior which reflect towards the entire organization. CEO is smart enough to keep all bullshit under the carpet during board meetings, selling the fictitious "One Seminole" to all Trustees and Members to keep her job. If distribution members do not see what is really going on behind the scenes, things will never change at executive level.

Providing affordable electric service to Floridians. Good wages.

Low morale, no training, secretive "mushroom" management, disrespectful executives who hypocritically fail to uphold company "core values" while rewarding themselves with excessive raises relative to staff, depressing building where we're not allowed to keep plants or hang a darn picture, micromanaging with constant "performance reviews".

The pension plan.

There a lot of great people.

CEO is a talker but mostly it is circular now with no direction. Likes to form secret alliances to undermine and drive out or fire perceived "nonconformists". It is a toxic environment currently. Time to hit reset on executive team.

Leadership. Period. There‘a no good leadership here. Secretive, vindictive, paranoid, silo-style leadership. If you desire to help build something, help create a better company, look elsewhere. Any opinion that differs from CEO is not only frowned upon but driven out

Very little. Executive leadership is the worst I've seen in my entire career.

Working hours flexibility, laid back culture, minimum supervision, benefits package

Untrustful executive management, culture just on paper, no career path, constant ongoing reorganization changes, not many opportunities to develop new skills, no meritocracy, very slow paced, follower mind set, lack of passion, lack of drive, boring workplace, mummies walking around waiting on retirement, among a few things.

Seminole Electric remodeled their building, which we thought would be better. but instead they enlarged the offices of Human Resources, VPs, Executives, & their secretaries, while cramming everyone else into tiny cubical farms. the CFO Jo Fuller told us to move into our tiny noisy space, & not to complain. gave us the buzzwords of collaboration, adaptability, yadayadayada. they could give a shit about any of us. half the staff is looking for jobs elsewhere

again, seriously?

Zero supervision. My managers take at least 3 months off a year so we come and go as we please.

Nothing to do.

Leadership has no interest in anything except fleecing the company so anything goes!

not much

the inequality of work. some departments have simple jobs, with few responsibilities. they come in late & leave early on a daily basis, & their managers don't care that they're not available during working hours. they spend their time at work on their phones, on Facebook or tweeting. all the while other departments are constantly overworked, can barely breathe between putting out fires, & earn minimal pay. in fact, pay seems to be inversely related to workload or competency. it's tough not to feel the inequity when you walk by people who are snoring at their desks, while you are treading water.

as everyone else mentions, pension. that's pretty much it.

It’s just like “Hot tub time machine”. Everything is from the 80’s.

The do nothing culture. For example the Director of IT runs 3 other companies from pool installation to IT services. Someone on his team declined to work for his IT company on the weekends like some others and was let go the following week. We have support requests over a year old and are told how busy they are...

Watching everyone take advantage of Lisa Johnson. Seriously, you have no idea.

Honestly and respectfully, nothing.

Seminole is falling apart. No culture, no values, except on paper. Recently fired two VPs and 2 Directors, and few others at low ranks. The worst work environment that I have ever experienced in my entire life.

Pension.

Not much. Most walk on eggshells these days.

Dispirited culture. Few, If any, have confidence in the CEO and her team. A dishonest, rude, disrespectful man who was discharged from the navy for stealing coworker's identity and then faking his own death to hide an affair keeps getting promoted & is now 2nd in command. He treats those beneath him poorly, and he does not have the knowledge or experience necessary to be in his current position, but the CEO has chosen to continually promote him while good- employees get thrown under the bus. It is disheartening for all who work there.

Pension

The CEO and a couple of others on the executive team are poor leaders, incapable of making good decisions. They have been instrumental in creating an unstable work atmosphere and are dragging the company in the wrong direction. Numerous good employees have left the company, are taking early retirement, or are searching for a different place to lend their talents.

It's difficult to trust 'leadership'. They talk about the need for collaboration but do not take their own advice. Many bad decisions over the past few years have led to a depressing, work environment. I've been working there for many years and it's the worst I've seen it. I'm worried about where Seminole is headed.

Pensions. If not for that, I think most in the company would have left already. It's going to be difficult to hold onto good talent if things don't change.
