Primary Purpose Identify and determine the appropriate technical tools suitable for the business needs and drive the implementation of solutions to completion by ensuring all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) have been met. Design, build and deliver Fintech automation assets and provide technical support systems for financial systems managed by Sempra Corporate Center. Required to learn new technologies which include the development of process improvements and efficiencies leveraging citizen led technical tools. Serve as Corporate Accounting & Finance organization's subject matter expert with IT on the technical development of integrations and data management to address reporting needs. Duties and Responsibilities * Serve as the IT technical subject matter expert in Corporate Accounting & Finance. This a highly technical role and will also require the execution of key development activities to support reporting needs and integration of financial applications. * Responsible for partnering with other IT organizations associated with initiatives, such as infrastructure, database administration, cybersecurity and reporting. This includes coordinating discussions between IT organizations to ensure the success of current projects and new initiatives. * Overall management of vendor service requests including corresponding with vendors, providing systems artifacts, testing and applying technical solutions. * Key contributor to the identification of citizen-led technical tools (Microsoft Power Platform, Alteryx and vendor owned integration utilities) suitable to support business needs. * Technical support lead for all Financial Systems and Technology tools. Provide guidance to lower-level team members and resolve critical technical issues. * Perform key project management related tasks which include creating project plans, development, creation of test plans, execution of test plans and client training. * Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties). Education * Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, electrical engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, or related field is required. * Master's degree in computer science, engineering, business, electrical engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, or related field is preferred. Experience * 8+ years of previous experience or equivalent training and/or experience is required. * Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire. Skills and Abilities The following skills and abilities are required: * Possess a strong overall knowledge of both functional and technical aspects of the Corporate Finance Technology landscape. * In-depth understanding of data modeling for multidimensional databases, hierarchy design and dimensionality. * Advanced experience with any of the following: Alteryx, Power Query, Power BI, Workiva's Wdata. * Demonstrated ability to present complex technical information, in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, in large and small groups. * Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, analytical and deductive reasoning skills. * Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines and address complex business requirements. * Experience with databases and technical programming languages that drive automation is preferred.
