Emily Shults is chief marketing officer for Sempra LNG. In this role, she oversees marketing and origination functions for Sempra LNG’s export infrastructure projects.

Previously, Shults was vice president of audit services for Sempra Energy, where she oversaw the internal audit function for Sempra Energy and its affiliates.

From 2017 to 2018, Shults served as vice president of energy supply for San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), one of Sempra Energy’s regulated California utilities. From 2015 to 2017, Shults served as vice president of electric & fuel procurement for SDG&E. She has held several management positions of increasing responsibility for the Sempra Energy family of companies since joining the company in 2003 as a senior accountant for Sempra Energy’s infrastructure businesses.

Before joining Sempra Energy, Shults worked with Williams Energy Marketing & Trading and Deloitte & Touche, LLP.

She serves on the board of directors of Walden Family Services, a nationally recognized foster care, adoption and youth services agency.

Shults holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Tulsa.

Justin Bird is president of Sempra LNG. In this role, he is responsible for the marketing and commercial development of Sempra’s five LNG projects. Bird led the continued development of the LNG projects in his prior position as chief development officer for Sempra North American Infrastructure. He also serves as a board member of IEnova, Sempra’s subsidiary in Mexico. Previously, Bird was vice president and gas infrastructure special counsel for Sempra Energy. In this position, he led the company’s response to regulatory and litigation activity related to the operation of SoCalGas’ Aliso Canyon natural gas storage field. Prior to that, Bird served as vice president, compliance and governance and corporate secretary for Sempra Energy, where he directed the company’s ethics and compliance programs and also acted as chief governance officer and corporate secretary. From 2012 to 2014, he was director of project finance for Sempra Energy, where he led the successful $7.4 billion financing of the Cameron LNG liquefaction export terminal in Hackberry, Louisiana, as well as several other significant financings. From 2004 to 2012, Bird held positions as counsel, senior counsel and principal attorney, working on a wide range of business transactions for Sempra Energy and its subsidiaries. Bird played a key role in the development and commercial arrangements for the Cameron LNG and Energía Costa Azul regasification terminals. Prior to joining the company in 2004, he was an attorney at Latham & Watkins LLP, where he specialized in energy project development and finance. Bird holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Arizona State University, where he graduated summa cum laude, and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the school’s Law Review.

Amy Chiu is chief development officer for Sempra LNG. In this role, Chiu is focused on advancing current projects and accelerating the development of emerging opportunities.

Most recently, Chiu was chief project development and asset management officer for Sempra LNG, leading project development activities, Cameron LNG and Energía Costa Azul joint venture, and LNG operations. Previously, Chiu was chief asset management & optimization officer for Sempra LNG and served as vice president of asset management for Sempra LNG & Midstream. Prior to joining Sempra LNG, Chiu was vice president of business process improvement and enterprise risk management for the Sempra Energy utilities San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) and Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), where she was responsible for capital and business optimization and risk management and strategic analysis. Prior to that, she was vice president of information technology for SDG&E and SoCalGas, where she was responsible for information technologies, vision and operational oversight including computing infrastructure, client services, applications, information security and information management for both utilities and Sempra Energy Corporate Center.

Chiu also served as vice president of risk analysis and management for Sempra Energy and prior to that was vice president of audit services. She held positions of increasing responsibility including director of business planning in the mergers and acquisitions group, manager of executive projects and manager of economic analysis. Prior to joining Sempra Energy, she held senior-level financial and actuarial analyst positions for Intelsat and Watson Wyatt Worldwide.

Chiu holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Mills College in Oakland, Calif., a master’s degree in business administration from American University in Washington D.C., and a doctorate in mathematics from Boston University.

Faisel Khan is chief financial officer for Sempra LNG. In this role, Khan oversees the company’s finance, accounting, risk and midstream functions. He also serves on the board of directors for IEnova, Sempra Energy’s subsidiary in Mexico.

Most recently, Khan was senior vice president of finance and investor relations for Sempra Energy, responsible for communicating Sempra Energy’s disciplined focus for delivering long-term shareholder value to the investment community, while providing oversight to Sempra Energy’s risk management and treasury matters.

Previously, from 2018 to 2019, Khan was vice president of investor relations for Sempra Energy.

Prior to working at Sempra Energy, he was a managing director for Citigroup in New York, covering the natural gas, pipeline, midstream, refining and master limited partnership industries. Khan was ranked as one of the top financial analysts in the natural gas sector for 11 consecutive years by the Institutional Investor Survey.

Before joining Citigroup in 2005, Khan worked for six years at Credit Suisse First Boston, first in investment banking and, later, as an equity research analyst following the integrated pipeline, merchant power and gas distribution industries.

Khan holds bachelor’s degrees in engineering and economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
