ABOUT THE ROLE The Community-Based Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) coordinates services and planning for children who are referred through social service, probation or mental health departments and are in the process of stepping down from institutional into family or family-like settings. Services will be provided almost exclusively in the community in families' homes, group homes, foster homes, schools, etc. The primary role is to ensure that all parties are working together toward stability for the child and family. MHRS engage clients in meaningful and authentic relationships while providing a safe, predictable, and positive environment that aligns with our clients' values and cultures. ABOUT START START (Short Term Access to Resources and Treatment) provides crisis stabilization and connection to longer term services. We are a small team and we work together closely to support youth and families facing significant challenges. Because this is a hybrid position, proactive communication is an incredibly important part of success in this role. Self-motivation and organization are also extremely important, as we ask staff to manage ever shifting priorities and ongoing documentation expectations independently.
