ABOUT THE ROLE
Seneca's School Partnership Programs is hiring a Bilingual School Therapist to guide grades 9-12 to success at Latitude High School in Oakland, CA. Bilingual School Therapists are integrated into the school community where you will provide healing-centered individual and family therapy, case-management services and conduct mental health assessments. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with caregivers, teachers, counselors, and school leadership to ensure and celebrate the success of youth and families in a school setting.

Seneca's Unconditional Education Light the Change Program partners with eight charter schools in Oakland and one charter school in Hayward; including charter management networks Education for Change, Lighthouse Community Public Schools, and Envision Education. Our goal is to provide essential mental health services to youth in grades TK - 12th in their neighborhood. We provide targeted early interventions to help students overcome behavioral and emotional challenges while minimizing referrals to a more restrictive school environment. We are an inclusive and welcoming program that strives for staff to feel valued, mattered, and supported with professional development while supporting our students and caregivers during some of the toughest times of their lives. Responsibilities
Work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team, including teachers, counselors, specialists, and program leadership
Provide individual, group, and family therapy, as well as case management for a caseload of school-referred students
Engage caregivers and school staff in the treatment process with regular discussions on student progress and needs
Provide crisis intervention, including risk screening, assessment, triage, and service linkage
Provide consultation and/or coaching to school staff around student needs and risk management rooted in a healing centered approach
Complete required data collection and service documentation to measure the effectiveness of services, inform team decision making, and/or engage in service billing
Communicate effectively with families and all others involved in the daily life of the student, including other Seneca programs or outside agencies
Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response training
This may include intervening with the students' behavioral program through physical management
Qualifications
Education/Experience requirements:
Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, professional clinical counseling, or psychology
Registered or eligible to register with the California BBS required
Bilingual in English/Spanish required
Reliable transportation to and from the school site and other occasional meeting locations
TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
PREFERRED
Experience working with youth in a mental health or education setting is preferred

School based schedule:
Monday to Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for conducting Low Vision Occupational Therapy (OT) evaluations and related Occupational Therapy assessments for individuals with low vision, establishing a plan of care and providing appropriate interventions to meet client goals. All low vision evaluations and follow up care will be provided at our partner locations in Ventura County and/or remotely at home completing telehealth appointments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts Occupational Therapy evaluation and other Occupational Therapy related assessments.
Develops goal-oriented plan of care and provides intervention in daily living skills and other relevant rehabilitation activities.
Works in conjunction with existing Braille Institute of America services to develop a comprehensive, collaborative plan of care that meets the needs of the client including recommendations for other Braille Institute of America services.
Recommends adapted equipment and magnification devices to achieve clients' goals and completes subsequent documentation. Maintains updated inventory of devices and equipment.
Documents and updates record of Low Vision client evaluations, assessments, outcomes and all services as needed to comply with Braille Institute of America standards.
Maintains good communication with referring Physicians.
Maintains current knowledge of emerging trends and advances in Low Vision protocols, outcomes measurements, devices/technologies, services and referral sources.
Provides training for staff and volunteers in Low Vision Rehabilitation-related topics, as requested by the Supervisor.
Participates in Braille Institute of America seminars, marketing activities and other special events as needed to promote Low Vision services and the organization's overall programs and services.
Performs other duties as assigned. As the organization continues to evolve, duties or tasks may change without impacting on the overall job description.
Work closely with Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) when applicable.
Complies with all State Licensure, Regulatory and federal guidelines and American Occupational Therapy Association Standards of Practice.

Job Summary:
Responsible for conducting Low Vision Occupational Therapy (OT) evaluations and related Occupational Therapy assessments for individuals with low vision, establishing a plan of care and providing appropriate interventions to meet client goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts Low Vision Occupational Therapy evaluation and other Occupational Therapy related assessments.
Develops goal-oriented plan of care and provides intervention in daily living skills and other relevant rehabilitation activities.
Works in conjunction with existing Braille Institute of America services to develop a comprehensive, collaborative plan of care that meets the needs of the client including recommendations for other Braille Institute of America services.
Recommends adapted equipment and magnification devices to achieve clients' goals and completes subsequent documentation. Maintains updated inventory of devices and equipment.
Documents and updates record of Low Vision client evaluations, assessments, outcomes and all services as needed to comply with Braille Institute of America standards.
Maintains good communication with referring Physicians.
Maintains current knowledge of emerging trends and advances in Low Vision protocols, outcomes measurements, devices/technologies, services and referral sources.
Provides training for staff and volunteers in Low Vision Rehabilitation-related topics, as requested by the Supervisor.
Participates in Braille Institute of America seminars, marketing activities and other special events as needed to promote Low Vision services and the organization's overall programs and services.
Performs other duties as assigned. As the organization continues to evolve, duties or tasks may change without impacting on the overall job description.
Work closely with Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) when applicable.
