The Role

Working under defined direction, you'll engage directly with building owners-primarily at the Director level-to deliver Johnson Controls' industry‑leading service offerings. You'll cultivate strong, long-term relationships with key decision makers, ensuring customer satisfaction while proactively expanding the reach of Johnson Controls' integrated Security and Fire portfolio. This role is responsible for selling Commercial Security and Integrated Systems, managing the full sales cycle-from identifying and qualifying opportunities to presenting solutions and closing new business. You'll contribute meaningfully to our growth by consistently acquiring and closing sales each month, while broadening the depth and breadth of our offerings within assigned accounts.
How you will do it
Build strong, consultative partnerships with assigned accounts to deepen penetration of Johnson Controls' Security and Integrated Systems and Services offerings.
Maintain frequent in‑person interaction with customers who most influence purchasing and design decisions.
Listen actively, ask thoughtful questions, and accurately identify customer needs, concerns, and opportunities.
Demonstrate credibility and commitment by understanding customers' business realities and speaking their language.
Work with assigned contractors to complete take‑offs and bid on a full spectrum of projects using the full range of Johnson Controls capabilities.
Partner with consulting engineers to guide project specifications toward Johnson Controls solutions.
Influence specifications and decision making within owner accounts to align with our offerings.
Keep leadership informed on account progress, opportunities, and challenges, and bring in management support when needed to maintain sales momentum.
Showcase technical strength by writing or shaping specifications and tailoring proposals to project requirements to deliver clear customer value.
Qualify and assess new prospects, working in collaboration with colleagues based on account assignments and honoring credit split guidelines.
Refer leads to other Johnson Controls business segments when opportunities arise.
Build strong internal relationships with operations and administrative teams to ensure seamless support, promote customer satisfaction, and address issues promptly and effectively.
What we look for Required
Minimum of two 5+ years of progressive, consultative field sales experience within a complex sales environment-ideally in the Fire, Security, or Building Automation sectors.
Strong initiative and outstanding interpersonal communication skills.
Proven ability to influence decision makers at key organizational levels.
Technically savvy with the ability to understand and articulate system capabilities and customer needs.
Minimum High School diploma and technical degree or 4 year sales experience.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
Five (5)+ years of demonstrated sales success within the Fire, Security, or IT industry.
Salary Range: HIRING SALARY RANGE: $68,600.-107k(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
