We are looking for a Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for accounting for fixed assets from purchase order approval through asset disposition. This position requires an organized, highly motivated professional with strong drive and skills to drive continuous improvement for all processes related to the full capital cycle. The individual will perform a variety of tasks ranging from routine to sophisticated analysis and play a critical part in fixed asset accounting operations, including the month-end close process resulting in complete and accurate financial statements. This is a role for an energetic individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and who has excellent communication skills. What you'll be doing: * Ensure fixed assets are properly accounted for by monitoring the end-to-end process including classification, useful life, acquisitions, transfers, depreciation, disposals, and reporting. * Drive global process automation, documentation and continuous improvement initiatives for fixed assets geared towards operational improvement and alignment across legal entities. * Develop a strong working knowledge of the SAP fixed assets module accounting and reporting functionality to assist with global capital expenditure reporting and analysis. * Prepare and review fixed asset account reconciliations and analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy and resolve account discrepancies on a timely basis. * Monitor and report on CIP (Construction in Progress) and ensure timely capitalization of projects. * Provide training and guidance to ensure that the review, approval, and accounting policies for capital purchases are globally aligned and consistently applied. * Plan, coordinate, count and record results of periodic fixed assets physical inventory. * Prepare supporting documentation and respond to inquiries for the company's quarterly, interim and year end audits, including SOX internal controls processes and procedures. What we need to see: * Undergraduate Degree in Finance/Accounting with knowledge of US GAAP (or equivalent experience) * 8+ years' experience in Fixed Asset accounting. * Working knowledge and experience with accounting software systems (preferably SAP) as well as asset management database tools. * Demonstrated experience automating processes and activities. * Advanced Microsoft Office Excel skills. * Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
