Position responsibilities will include: Manage monthly closing process including the following duties: Review account reconciliations Analyze AR Aging and communicate with staff to ensure timely collections Manage revenue deferrals, including contract revenues and event rentals Track restricted grant income and releases in net asset roll forward in coordination with Development and Program staff Manage prepaid maintenance accounting Review all manual journal entries Proof initial draft Board report vs. P&L Detail prior to CFO review Serve as a key point person in the annual audit Manage and deliver Audit and 990 requests Collaborate with team to ensure timely progress Support annual budgeting process including: Prepare individual program budgets with staff and CFO Consolidate budget model in Excel in partnership with CFO Analyze year-to-date vs. budget reporting by program monthly Support forecasting process including: Incorporate updates to Forecast model with program staff and CFO throughout the year Lead mid-year forecasting process in partnership with CFO Incorporate revisions to individual program budgets Consolidate forecast model Manage inventory accounting procedures Maintain inventory tracking and records in partnership with Nursery Manager and Contract Bookkeeper Support system, procedures, and data accuracy Oversee quarterly and year end reconciliation processes per GAAP Manage In Kind income and record keeping Partner with Human Resources Director to review and proof payroll twice monthly Support Development team with accounting data for grant requests in partnership with CFO Collaborate with CFO to identify areas to streamline processes, integrate systems or implement ongoing process or system improvements Maintain internal controls procedures with a focus on continuous improvement Perform additional finance and accounting duties as needed Position Qualifications: Commitment to Trees Atlanta's mission Willingness to work in person at the office at 825 Warner headquarters building 5-10 years of finance and accounting experience, including nonprofit organizations Mastery of accounting principles and concepts, with strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting Advanced proficiency in Excel, developing models for budgeting, analysis, and reporting Experience with QuickBooks Online, ensuring accurate financial records per GAAP Knowledge of payment platforms, online payroll systems, and Salesforce a plus Exceptional organizational skills, able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively High attention to detail and facility with numbers Proactive, solution-oriented mindset, delivering quick turnaround with accuracy Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Professional and polished communication skills Collaborative interpersonal skills, able to build relationships across all levels of the organization To Apply: Complete the application and upload your resume.
