Fenix Group SPC in Minnetonka, MN is seeking to hire a full-time Senior Accounting Associate to serve in this dual role leading both our Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes. This role will be split with approximately 80% of the work being A/R related and 20% being A/P related.

A Day in the Life of the Senior Accounting Associate

For Accounts Receivable, you will spend your day invoicing customers across our brands and locations; contacting customers regarding past due balances based on account terms; preparing and sending monthly aging reports to all customers; updating customer information in the ERP system; receiving and processing credit requests from new customers; creating credit memos once they are approved and returns have been processed; preforming customer research and account reconciliations; and researching and resolving invoice disputes and other billing inquiries from customers.


For Accounts Payable, you will spend your day processing invoices using a 3-way match with PO and receipt; reviewing GL coding of expense related invoices; processing weekly check runs; assisting with inventory costing as it relates to handling purchase receipts; processing and reconciling company purchase card transactions daily; reviewing and processing employee travel card purchases through Concur; reviewing Use Tax invoices as needed, & assisting with month and year end processing including reconciliation to the general ledger.


What You'll Need to be Successful at Fenix Group SPC

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel
  • Experience with Sage ERP or other manufacturing integrated ERP systems
  • Manufacturing accounting experience is a plus
  • A passionate and positive can do attitude, willingness to learn, to teach, and to be a change agent within the company.
  • An ability to work within a team environment and help the team become better.
