Facilitate the Product Engineering function at the plant location for product development and change control for the relevant product line.

Assume product engineering responsibility for new applications of existing product technologies. This includes customer interface for identification of new opportunities and development of product specifications and product features to meet customer requirements. Also responsible for design changes including cost reduction and product improvement. Direct testing validation work related to design changes, process changes and product improvements. Direct design and prototype activities required to support above.

For new applications, select product design concept based on customer requirements for function, durability and vehicle packaging Apply known BW product technology based upon knowledge and experience. Assign dimensions, special characteristics and materials based on product need manufacturability Create product specifications for assembly, manufacturing, and components based upon materials and performance requirements Lead interface with customer engineering personnel. Recommend and negotiate specifications and tolerances to meet quality and performance standards while ensuring consistency with management targets Facilitate effective communication between BorgWarner Dixon, IL manufacturing plant and BorgWarner Technical CentersLead product print and specification release process for new part numbers Ensure product integrity by assessing manufacturing plant's conformance to all product prints, specifications, processes and procedures Assist production with resolving design issues arising during production Make decisions regarding acceptance for product compliance issues Lead product change validation and implementation process Actively support and participate in continuous improvement activities as needed Assist with supplier technical issues relative to product function and durability Lead and assist in cost reduction planning and implementations Direct product technician activities. Participate in Engineering studies, validations, and tests as needed Provide technical support and education in all areas and specifically with product function and durability Lead product benchmarking analysis and formulate subsequent recommendations Development of specific work procedures to minimize risks. Training of employees on the procedures and enforcing their use Use of required PPE; following safety rules and procedures and training others; compliance with plant code of conduct Attendance at safety and health training sessions Maintain compliance with 5S program practices Perform other duties as directed by management
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent related engineering experience Strong interest in progressing in the engineering design profession Automotive background a plus Product experience in mechatronic devices a plus Must be available to travel periodically with minimal notification

Job Purpose
What you will do as an Application Security Engineer:
Develop, configure and implement tooling to support DevSecOps processes including SAST, DAST, IAST, and SCA, in partnership with DevOps.Establish application security standards and guidelines for developers.Establish and audit cloud infrastructure security standards.Evaluate application architectures for security related concerns.Champion and enable security-related activities in the software engineering process (e.g., threat modeling, secure coding practices).Assess infrastructure, web and application environments to help identify, and prioritize risks and vulnerabilities.Manage vulnerability backlog, partnering with Product and Engineering to ensure issues are addressed in accordance with SLA.Perform and/or facilitate external audit of cloud architecture specific to security.Perform red team exercises, including internal pen-tests on web applications and infrastructure, and internal social engineering exercises.
Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
5+ years of experience in application security ideally from a software or architecture background.Strong understanding of SAST, IAST, DAST, and SCA tooling in support of DevSecOps.Significant experience with securing cloud architectures preferably in GCP.Experience with performing security architecture and design reviews.Experience implementing a vulnerability management program.Experience with coding/scripting.Experience with threat modeling (STRIDE, DREAD, etc.) Demonstrable experience building strong working relationships with Product, Engineering, Infosec, and GRC.Experience with running or participating in bug bounty programs.

Experienced in workflow design, configuration and process development, must understand business process concepts (required). Advanced knowledge of and experience with JavaScript or TypeScript. Expert knowledge in Web development using REACT, Node.JS, Java, JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
