This position requires a highly motivated and experienced Loan Servicing professional who will partner with our Insurance Servicing and Loan Administration departments. The individual will be responsible for performing various research functions for a variety of areas in Operations/Servicing. The individual will be responsible for having a high-level understanding of all functions within servicing and will assist with procedure reviews and implement more efficient processes. They will Interact with various stakeholders (borrowers, investor clients and loan officers). Inclusive of our clients, they will interact with Master Servicers, legal counsel, internal and functional area team members. Responsibilities in accordance with policies and procedures, industry standards, loan documents, and servicing agreements. This position is to serve as the central point of contact for procedural review, research and overall process improvements for the operations/servicing teams. They will address and respond to normal and customary questions and inquiries from clients. The position is in Lower Gwynedd, PA on a hybrid basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage approximately 50-70 insurance claims from beginning to completion - working with borrowers, adjusters, insurance agents, Master Servicers, Lenders/Investors and other interested parties
Manage the administration of Newmark's Lender-Placed & REO Insurance programs
Conduct quality reviews of all insurance packages submitted by third-party vendors
Read and interpret loan documents to determine requirements for Newmark portfolio of loans
Work with all applicable functional business units to ensure compliance with loan document requirements and borrower requests on all servicing systems
Support the Insurance Compliance Department with annual audit reviews from various stakeholders and investors
Annual Procedure review (high level and process mapping) and coordination with team members for updates
Identifying Process inefficiencies and offer alternative solutions to management
System testing (as needed, including occasional weekends)
Interaction and communication with other departments
Interface with customers, vendors, and internal team members to resolve issues as appropriate

The Senior Associate, CRE Loan Screening role will sit on a team of screeners and analysts to pre-qualify and structure Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Balance Sheet secured loans, with support from the Senior Manager, CRE Loan Screening and the Line of Business' leadership. This role will contribute to the preparation of proformas and associated loan calculations, structuring and issuing soft quotes, and screening briefs for submission to Underwriting and other stakeholders. Loan screening assignments will be across all major asset classes as well as the spectrum of risk and business plans: from ground-up development to value-add to stabilized.
As part of the Production Enablement team they will also perform other duties as necessary to support the goals and objectives of the CRE platform and work directly with Relationship Managers and Managing Underwriters.
Responsibilities:
Understands parts of the procedural aspect of underwriting Capital One CRE Balance Sheet and Unitranche Loans from Client Loan Request to Term Sheet and can support communications with stakeholders and to customers
Navigates deals through the screening process including coordination with various stakeholders on structuring, sizing, and quoting to ensure an efficient process with the client
Works to identify exceptions / risks associated with the transactions and provides mitigated recommendation
Partners with Relationship Managers (RMs) to support client relationships and respond to client requests, by structuring and pricing incoming opportunities
Responsible for high quality outputs on screening memos to Balance Sheet stakeholders and Soft Quotes to the borrower, while also providing for competitive turnaround times.
Has strong judgment and collaborates with Senior Manager, CRE Loan Screening and Production Enablement colleagues as needed.
Builds up-to-date knowledge of Capital One Balance Sheet products, credit parameters, and lending appetite by attending and supporting on-team training efforts.
Learns how to manage complex transactions with complicated borrower structures and unique property/market characteristics
Attends industry conferences and client meetings in order to assist in the maintenance of crucial relationships

What you'll do

Execute major components of audits, including critical technology functions, technology infrastructure and resiliency, emerging technology, cybersecurity, risk management, application, and third-party management, as well as lead small to medium size audits.
Perform risk assessments of technology and cybersecurity areas that support the global payments network business unit, design and execute audit procedures to verify the effectiveness of existing controls, identify and define issues, review and analyze evidence, and document auditee processes and procedures.
Understand the broader context and implications (e.g., financial, legal, reputational, etc.) of the various types of risk affecting the business and critical technology functions .
Establish and maintain good client relations during engagements. Communicate or assist in communicating the results of some audit projects to management via written reports and oral presentations.
Review and provide feedback on audit workpapers to achieve clear, organized and complete documentation to support work performed.
Self prioritize and effectively plan own work activities managing multiple priorities and tasks across the team to deliver quality results.
Coordinate with others and proactively take on additional work.
Deliver appropriate, succinct and organized information, tailoring communication style to audience.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or military experience
At least 5 years of experience in internal or external auditing, accounting, financial analysis, information systems, compliance, risk management or a combination within the banking or financial services industry
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
3+ years of experience leading audits and performing the auditor-in-charge role
2+ years of experience with payment technologies such as HPE Nonstop, IBM Mainframe, Mobile Payments, Tokenized services, cloud-based and virtualized environments, Windows and Linux operating environments
2+ years of experience in the payments network industry including the MANIC (Merchant-Acquirer-Network-Issuer-Customer) model, network participant roles (issuers, acquirers, merchants), PCI standards, and international payment regulations
2+ years of experience at a leading public accounting or consulting firm, working in a highly regulated environment related to payment network and related technology services, leading people in cross-cultural/international teams or related experience
Professional certification such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
