General Summary:
Unum Group seeks Principal Business Analysts - IT in Atlanta, GA.

Ensure the delivery of the defined business objectives within the agile team by analyzing business, IT, and other data processing problems to develop and implement solutions to complex applications problems and system administration issues for the software systems and networks utilized by Unum, with responsibility for covering a particular BDH or Value Stream domain.
Accountable for the tactical delivery of the strategic components through development of business cases and collaboration and oversight of deliverables with agile teams and contributes ideas and suggestions to the strategic roadmap for the company based on the domain needs and direction.
Participate in the advancement of business solutions across a business portfolio by working closely with IT Leadership, Product Owners, Business SME's and Business Architects, leading discussions with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Leaders of Agile Teams and the corresponding management and teams to ensure alignment of priorities, performing systems management and integration functions, improving existing systems, and reviewing software and workflow.
Analyze commercially available software and bridge gaps between IT and Business/Operations by accelerating intelligent automation maturity, increasing IT and Business collaboration, ensuring that Technology is leveraged in the right way alongside any and all other enterprise technologies.
Collaborate with architects to create digital business capabilities that are innovative and highly capable.
Define external partnership engagement/agreements.
Coordinate and participate in tool, technology and service selection, risk assessments and sunsetting in conjunction with technical and business stakeholders ensuring consistency with existing business needs and architectural sustainability.
Test, map, and analyze information technology systems and system capabilities.
Elicit user requirements using digital technology and end-user analytics.
Collaborate with Product Owners and Business SMEs and Technical Architects to design requirements and features and a system roadmaps.
Design test procedures, review test plans and test design built by the testing teams.
Build and define current state and future state business architecture.
Preform gap analysis.
Build transformation plan feature roadmap.
Design process maps and business capability roadmaps.
Build overall data and process design for integrations (upstream and downstream systems.)
Coach and guide Business Analyst positions.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus 5 years of related experience. Requires 5 years of experience with the following: Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools; Agile Development Methodologies; Working on SOA, detailing out web services, data mapping of elements and defining various operations for web service; Applying Data Modeling, Data Dictionary, Data Mapping and Normalization to identify innovative information technology solutions in support of business processes and for complex applications problems and system administration issues; SQL Programing: foundational SQL programming, including the capacity to adeptly generate and execute SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and extrapolation; Project Management Solutions: implementing and utilizing project management software to plan, track, and execute projects effectively; Strong analytical skills are essential for assessing project performance, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies using the chosen project management solution; Business Process Mapping: understanding of various business process mapping methodologies and utilizing industry-standard tools such as Microsoft Visio or Lucidchart. Requires 2 years of experience with Workflow Automation Technology: understanding current landscape of workflow technologies in the market and their applicability to align with and optimize business processes. Telecommuting permitted. Up to 10% domestic travel to employer offices in Portland, ME and Chattanooga, TN.
40 hours/week; $142,152 - $162,152 per year. This wage range supersedes the base salary range listed below, due to the salary range below reflecting a national range.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$109,100.00-$224,000.00
