A successful candidate will take ownership of their Suppliers while proactively managing their responsibilities. This includes cost analysis, supplier selection, delivery performance, quality assessments, etc. The success of this position is heavily reliant on proper communication with Suppliers and internal Customers. Title, responsibilities, and compensation will be dependent on applicants Supply Chain experience. Responsibilities:

Proactively manages assigned Suppliers and Commodities; identifying risks and ensuring supplier execution of our KPI's (On-time delivery, cost, and quality)

Conducts supplier visits to develop new suppliers and/or existing suppliers to address quality or delivery issues with existing suppliers

Implements methods to ensure materials are delivered to meet planned dates in two production facilities

Uses analytical skills to provide strategic analysis of assigned commodities and vendors while looking for opportunities for continuous improvements to lead times, supplier stocking programs, pricing, etc

Utilizes sourcing and negotiation skills to implement long term agreements and integration of key suppliers, performance monitoring, and supplier contract management

Owns quoting activity for new projects as well as bench marking existing business to identify the best total cost
Tracks commodity pricing Issues purchase orders and expedites components as needed while communication effectively with Manufacturing Manages and optimizes inventory levels via Kanban and safety stock initiatives with suppliers Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience 5 years related experience Positive attitude and team player. Desire to work well with others and support each other's goals Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and overall organizational skills Negotiation skills and a desire to create win/win solutions for Cone Drive and our Suppliers Understanding of purchase order software platforms (INFOR / XA a plus) Inventory management experience Able to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Buyer's primary responsibilities in this role are to purchase goods, materials and services to ensure that company operational needs are met, taking into account, cost, quality and delivery while striving for continuity of supply. This role has greater responsibility and accountability than a Buyer and the ability to influence and mentor others is required. The Senior Buyer will take responsibility for larger projects and also hold a larger remit in terms of purchasing responsibility.

Independently, performs the more complex procurement activities. Leads assigned projects with regards to procuring and distribution of indirect materials, MRO, leased equipment, office supplies, travel, capital equipment, IT and productive services for the organization. What you'll do

Manage the entire purchase order process; including appropriate documentation, data entry, submission, order expediting, delivery, and reconciliation of related issues
Analyze requirements of commodities including, but not limited to, preliminary specifications, appropriate supplier(s), logistics and delivery/schedule requirements
Obtain competitive bids per procedure (domestic and international); evaluate, negotiate price, purchase terms, and delivery
Identify and lead opportunities to drive performance in quality, cost, and delivery
Assure commodities are delivered in accordance with order terms including, but not limited to, price, schedule and quality specifications
Ensure the relevant data (quotes, amendments, delivery, & quality) in purchasing systems and data bases are updated and maintained in a timely and accurate manner
Enforce and abide by company policies, procedures and compliance guidelines
Manage supply chain activities through continuous assessment of supplier performance with regards to quality, cost, and delivery. Make recommendation(s) for procurement changes based on tangible metrics and data
Prepare key performance indicators (KPIs), reports and data summaries
Uphold the organizations mission, values, and goals through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality and team work
Assist in the mentoring and training of purchasing staff
Perform other related duties as may be assigned

What you'll need

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four year college / university or 5 years of experience in indirect purchasing, ERP/MRP systems, and supply chain operations in lieu of Bachelor's degree
Demonstrated prior success in achieving results in a team-driven environment
2 years SAP or GSS experience preferred
Ability to read, comprehend and interpret documentation such as engineering drawings and technical specifications
Ability to communicate and exercise positive relationships amongst various departments throughout the organization
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, frequently changing and evolving environment
Knowledge of International Shipping Terms (INCO Terms)
Be results-oriented with excellent analytical, communication, and organization skills
Proficiency with business systems such as database software, manufacturing software, order processing systems (SAP) and Microsoft Office programs
