Senior cost accountant job description

Job DescriptionThe Cost Accountant will be required to review and maintain the standard costs for the Cincinnati site – this will include, the management of projects to confirm current standards as well as ensuring ERP data and master records are kept up to date. In addition, the Cost Accountant will be an integral part of the wider Finance team, supporting the month end and budgeting process as required and undertaking ad hoc work when needed.What will you do? • Partner with engineering, sourcing and supply chain to develop annual standard costs and Ad Hoc inventory costing requests in SAP. Provide analytics to interpret year over year cost drivers.
• Strong knowledge of bill of material and routings in a standard cost system.
• Lead finance oversight of physical inventories. Partner with supply chain to improve cycle count results through root cause analysis. Proactive monitoring of inventory and research of issues.
• Analyze manufacturing equipment availability and utilization and direct labor productivity to provide meaningful metrics to help drive business results.
• Proactive investigation of manufacturing variances including earned machine and labor hour absorption, scrap, capitalized variances, PPV and E&O inventory.
• Perform monthly closing activities including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations and analysis.
• Analyze, interpret and communicate the company’s actual performance versus budgets and forecasts to functional leadership.
• Prepare monthly calculation of absorption and ASC606 revenue recognition
• Provide support to business management regarding inventory and pricing request for customers
• Ensure compliance with Corporate Accounting Policies and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements Who we are looking for: experience, skills & abilities • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred

Analysis of monthly financial information in order to understand the financial condition of HDMA/AHM and advise all members of the cost project team (DEB project management team-generally EX4+) on impact to new model profitability of assigned models

Developing new model cost per unit based on professional accounting standards to ensure accurate financial forecasts for future models

Using analytical skills and professional accounting knowledge to create sales breakdowns and profit analysis
Analyzing new model event unit cost and present to senior management Advising manufacturing location strategy lead on in-house vs outsource costing strategy and production allocation studies

A Bachelor's degree with major in accounting or finance plus minimum 2 years' experience, or associates degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in an accounting related job 2-5 years with Bachelor's degree, 5 years minimum with Associate's degree Basic Accounting principles- GAAP/IFRS and Cost accounting background Strong understanding of accounting functions, terminology, and ability to apply accounting concepts Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills Understanding of Honda's accounting processes, preferably some Financial analyst experience Strong Microsoft product skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc) SAP Knowledge and skills

FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific, Inc., has a new opportunity for a Senior Cost Accountant. The team member in this role will support and assist the Cost Accounting Supervisor and the entire Accounting Department in compiling, analyzing, improving and developing conclusions and actionable plans on all matters relating to our standard cost system, including investigating/reaching root cause and determining sustainable counter measures through a team-approach problem solving process.

• Follow, design and/or implement cost accounting procedures.
• Ensure the continuous cycle count process is performed, completed and recorded in SAP.
• Assist in the annual physical inventory
• Assist in CRM costing for all sites.
• Assist in the annual cost roll-up for all sites. Produce certain cost-related schedules, review external inputs and analyze results
• Assist the preparation of JE's for month-end, QTR and YE close. This position does not post a JE.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly allocations (facilities & QC, & EMS miscellaneous costs).
• Assist in the preparation of monthly reclassification of R&D inventory usage & no-charge samples to customers.
• Review all raw material, freight-in & freight-out AP transactions.
• Extracting data from information systems (SAP) as required.
• Assist with costing recipes.
• Providing costing data as needed by corporate auditing firm and parent company.
• Continuous improvement in SAP knowledge, with the goal of becoming a super-user.
• Ad hoc requests from the controller and/or cost team.
Requisites:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related degree. 5+ years of standard cost experience in a manufacturing environment. An in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices and a capacity for independent thought and judgment. A thorough and deep knowledge of cost accounting and standard costing of inventory. SAP experience highly preferred Highly proficient computer skills and strong Excel skills.
