We are currently seeking a
Senior Cost Engineer - Electronics
to join our Procurement Organization in Lisle, IL, headquarters to build 'greenfield' cost estimates for assigned categories, develop benchmark cost-models, and also provide active analytical support to the Category leaders to enable knowledge-based, data-driven negotiations with supplier partners.

The
Sr. Cost Engineer - Electronics
will work very closely with Category Management Teams (CMT) and is jointly accountable for ensuring that components/products are sourced at the most optimal levels. The role will require working cross functionally within Navistar and interface activity with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Logistics, Product Pricing and more.

Key responsibilities include:

Be the center-of-excellence for assigned categories with regards to understanding product/ manufacturing costs of Electronic Components/ Modules and Circuit Board Assemblies Generate 'Greenfield' cost estimates - the true cost of the component, as designed, assuming best-in-class sourcing and manufacturing Travel to key supplier manufacturing sites to assess the supplier's true manufacturing costs and develop 'Brownfield' cost models for Electrical Components/ Assemblies, and also identify potential opportunities to optimize cost Closely partner with Category Managers and provide costing/ analytics support for all major supplier negotiations Collaborate across cross functional peers, especially Product Engineering, Procurement, Quality and Manufacturing, and support in developing products with the most optimized cost


Minimum Requirements



Bachelor's degree At least 8 years of product manufacturing experience At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

Master's degree At least 6 years of product manufacturing experience At least 1 year of lead experience
