The Biostatistician will have the opportunity to design and shape key processes and procedures in the Data Analytics Core. This position requires the ability to work independently, manage multiple overlapping data analysis projects, and communicate effectively with staff and faculty on a wide range of topics. Given the substantial volumes and diverse data types involved in these projects, fluency with various statistical/programming software is essential. There is a growing need for multifaceted centralized analytic support within the Department of Medicine and the UW and the Biostatistician contributes to the growth and success by executing the department's mission and vision. The goal of this position is to provide and create department-wide biostatistical support for faculty-initiated projects as part of the departmental Data Analytics Core team. This position requires accuracy, efficiency, flexibility, creativity, and a desire to serve multiple stakeholders, while working within UW regulations. We anticipate near term growth; thus, the incumbent would also be responsible for recruiting and onboarding additional master's level analysts and leading the project management across the team. The position reports to the Vice Chair of Research, and partners with multiple senior leaders in the department.**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *Analytical = 75%**** Research and determine appropriate methodologic procedures for a range of statistical analyses, including biostatistics and bioinformatics.* Be able to perform multivariable statistical analyses using advanced analytic approaches.* Collaborate with individuals or interdisciplinary research teams on projects from inception through publication. In this role, you will drive insights that shape the strategy for an education-focused digital product by analyzing large-scale telemetry and business data. Responsibilities

Salary Range
At Blueprint, we strive to offer competitive pay that reflects the value of our team members. Compensation for this role is influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographic market. For candidates based in Washington State, the anticipated salary range is $150,000 to $170,000 USD annually. Please note that we typically do not hire new employees at the top of the posted range. Key Responsibilities
Predictive Analytics Development: Host and develop various ML models that learn from historical and real-time data to predict future outcomes or detect anomalies, including schedule slippage prediction, equipment failure forecasting, and risk assessment
AI Model Development & Deployment: Develop, train, and deploy machine learning models within the Palantir Foundry environment, managing model development, training, and inference at scale while ensuring models operate on governed, quality-controlled data
Anomaly Detection & Optimization: Introduce ML algorithms on numeric datasets to identify outliers or predict issues, applying time-series anomaly detection to identify unusual fluctuations that could indicate problems
Algorithm Optimization: Fine-tune and optimize predictive analytics algorithms to improve the accuracy of fault detection and predictive maintenance, adjusting machine learning models based on historical data to enhance prediction accuracy
AI-Driven Decision Support: Build AI capabilities that augment human decision-making with AI intelligence, helping project managers identify potential risks before they become problems and enabling real-time adaptation to prevent cost overruns
Data Analysis & Visualization: Perform comprehensive data analysis and create visualizations that communicate insights to stakeholders, enabling data-driven strategy and decision-making
Model Training & Continuous Improvement: Train models on historical data from previous construction projects and continuously improve them with incoming data from ongoing projects, scheduling retraining as new data accumulates
Cross-Project Learning: Develop fleet-wide learning capabilities where data from each project is aggregated to enable performance benchmarking and cross-project AI, creating a self-improving fleet deployment model
AI/ML Infrastructure: Build and maintain pipelines for training and running models at scale using Python ML libraries (TensorFlow/PyTorch), ensuring auditability and transparency of outputs
Simulation & What-If Analysis: Develop simulation engines and what-if analysis tools to simulate schedule adjustments or supply chain disruptions using unified data from the ontology
Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with engineering, construction, and operations teams to understand business problems, translate them into data science solutions, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Experience
7-12 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics
Proven track record of developing and deploying production ML models at scale
Experience with predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and optimization algorithms
Technical Skills
Machine Learning: Deep expertise in AI/ML systems, including supervised and unsupervised learning, time-series analysis, and anomaly detection
Programming: Advanced proficiency in Python and ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) for model development and deployment
Data Platforms: Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and model deployment; experience with Palantir Foundry or similar data integration platforms preferred
Analytics & Visualization: Strong skills in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization tools
Model Operations: Experience with MLOps, model versioning, monitoring, and continuous training pipelines
Big Data: Experience working with large-scale datasets and distributed computing frameworks
Professional Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate business problems into data science solutions
Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently and lead data science initiatives

Experience with AI-driven forecasting and optimization in regulated environments
Background in causal inference and econometric modeling
Experience with graph neural networks or knowledge graph applications

Estimated Starting Salary Range
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $150,000 - $173,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company's discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.

Data Scientist II - Marketing Science

Senior data scientist job in Seattle, WA
Marketing science - a sub-team within marketing analytics at Disney's Direct to Consumer team (Hulu, Disney+, ESPN+ and Star) - is in search of an econometrician to run marketing mix models (MMM) and associated ancillary analysis. This position will work as part of a team focused primarily on econometric modeling, which also provides support for downstream practices used to inform marketing investment. The analyst plays a hands-on role in modeling efforts. The ideal candidate has a substantial quantitative skill set with direct experience in marketing science practices (MMM, attribution modeling, testing / experimentation, etc.), and should serve as a strong mentor to analysts, helping to onboard new talent in support of wider company goals. Technical acumen as well as narrative-building are integral to the success of this role.
Responsibilities
* Build, sustain and scale econometric models (MMM) for Disney Streaming Services with support from data engineering and data product teams
* Quantify ROI on marketing investment, determine optimal spend range across the portfolio, identify proposed efficiency caps by channel, set budget amounts and inform subscriber acquisition forecasts
* Support ad hoc strategic analysis to provide recommendations that drive increased return on spend through shifts in mix, flighting, messaging and tactics, and that help cross-validate model results
* Provide insights to marketing and finance teams, helping to design and execute experiments to move recommendations forward based on company goals (e.g., subscriber growth, LTV, etc)
* Support long-term MMM (et.al.) automation, productionalization and scale with support from data engineering and product
* Build out front-end reporting and dashboarding in partnership with data product analysts and data engineers to communicate performance metrics across services, markets, channels and subscriber types
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in advanced Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or comparable field of study
* 3+ years of experience in a marketing data science / analytics role with understanding of measurement and optimization best practices
* Coursework or direct experience in applied econometric modeling, ideally in support of measure marketing efficiency and optimize spend, flighting and mix to maximize return on ad spend (i.e., MMM)
* Exposure / understanding of media attribution practices for digital and linear media, the data required to power them and methodologies for measurement
* Understanding of incrementality experiments to validate model recommendations and gain learnings on channel/publisher efficacy
* Exposure to / familiarity with with BI/data concepts and experience building out self-service marketing data solutions
* Strong coding experience in one (or more) data programming languages like Python/R
* Ability to draw insights and conclusions from data to inform model development and business decisions
* Experience in SQL
Preferred Qualifications
* Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics, or Statistics
The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $117,500 to $157,500 per year and in New York City, NY & Seattle, WA is $123,000 to $165,000. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
