We need our Designers at this level to apply applying the more advanced CAD techniques. In this role you will develop difficult and complex layout and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge, that they meet company and industry standards and codes.
Responsibilities:
Utilizes a CAD workstation to prepare difficult and complex layout and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge.
Interprets and ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
Understands and utilizes more advanced software to complete assignments.
Works closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems.
Meets layout requirements and develops alternate design layouts of systems as required.
Ensures compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.
Reviews supplier data and supplier/manufacturer drawings, as required.
Checks orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
Performs checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor.
Assists in training lower level Designers in various procedures.

Qualifications:

This designer will work as part of a team to review, update, and develop 3D and intelligent design components for use on capital projects. 3D and Intelligent Design are to be utilized on all greenfield (new) substations designs. Intelligent Design will have limited application for brownfield (existing) substations, 3D being more useful. This position will be utilizing leading edge technology, and drive change within the organization. **Key Accountabilities**
+ Responsible for BIM (Building Information Modelling), will facilitate collaboration between design team and contractor team. Oversee production of project 3D / intelligent design modelling that provides 3D/ 4D visualizations that provides accurate data to drive efficiencies in production of 2D drawings in design phase of capital projects
+ Support production in use of 3D and Intelligent Design
+ Develop and maintain systems, models and procedures in order to support design solutions and enhance efficiency and operability
+ Manage day- to- day relationship with relevant customers/business areas to understand requirements and deliver appropriate solutions
+ Responsible for assigned substation design standards technical support which may include the review and approval of engineering drawings, manufacturer drawings and equipment specifications.
