Job Description:
Own end-to-end product design across requisition, sourcing, scheduling, analytics, and incentives.
Define the platform's information architecture and intuitive navigation framework.
Build and implement a v1 design system, including tokens, components, and patterns.
Design trusted agent experiences with explainability, safe overrides, and clear decision logic.
Conduct lightweight UX research and convert insights into product improvements.
Partner with Product and Engineering to prioritize quick wins and long-term foundations.
Measure impact using shared success metrics and drive continuous improvement.
Use AI tools to accelerate design workflows such as variant exploration and spec generation.
Position Requirements:
Expertise in AI/automation UX, including explainability and user control.
Portfolio that displays storytelling abilities, primarily focused on measurable product outcomes.
Experience as the first designer or design lead in an early-stage startup is preferred.
Understanding of HR tech/recruiting/workforce or other multi-persona operations tools is a plus.
Strong systems-thinking mindset with proven information architecture experience.

G/Fore is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Women's Associate Designer to join our dynamic Design Team in Raleigh! This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design process for a leading brand in the golf and active lifestyle industry. You will collaborate closely with the women's design team and cross-functional partners-including Product Development and Technical Design-to bring innovative concepts to life while maintaining brand integrity and quality standards.
At G/Fore, we offer a wide range of golf and lifestyle apparel, giving you the chance to design across multiple categories such as outerwear, tops, bottoms, and dresses, within cut-and-sew knits, wovens, and knitwear.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Create detailed CADs with construction call outs for multiple product categories
Assists in initial TP set up and maintenance
Making print pitch sheets with color and print technique call outs
Assist in coordinating and completing special assignments and projects as required
Collaborate with various staff including Design Management in creating boards, color cards/decks as needed
Assists Design Team and Management in miscellaneous tasks such as filling, organizing, scanning and photocopying if and when needed
Lab dip/ submit review
Vendor communication
Attend fittings and partner with technical team on garment fits & adjustments
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design, Digital Art, or related field
2+ years of experience in apparel design (activewear or lifestyle preferred) Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; familiarity with PLM systems a plus
Basic knowledge of garment construction and fit Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Creative mindset with trend awareness and adaptability

Position Overview
The Technical Apparel Designer is responsible for overseeing fit, construction, and technical execution across apparel categories. Working closely with Design, Production, and Vendor partners, this role ensures that each style is developed to meet brand standards from initial concept through production readiness. With a strong balance of technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration, the Technical Apparel Designer plays a critical role in translating creative vision into consistent, well-executed product.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the fit and construction expert across apparel categories, establishing and maintaining brand fit standards
Own the spec development, fitting, and grading process throughout the product lifecycle
Define grading rules and size standards aligned with brand strategy and customer segmentation
Establish base size measurements and manage sample requests for new styles
Lead fit sessions with models and cross-functional partners, reviewing fit, construction, and placement details against tech packs
Approve fit samples and grade specs for full size ranges
Manage fit sampling and collaborate with factory partners to resolve technical challenges
Create detailed “how to measure” pages within technical packages
Communicate fit comments clearly to vendors and support revisions through sample iterations
Support design and development through flat sketching and technical package creation
Prioritize technical deliverables to support seasonal calendar adherence and cross-functional alignment
Participate in design reviews, presentations, and development meetings, providing technical guidance to support design intent
Make pattern or sample adjustments as needed during fit sessions
Ensure garments are production-ready, meeting measurement, construction, and quality standards within timeline requirements
Maintain seasonal body blocks, fit standards, and measurement libraries to ensure consistency
Provide technical support related to quality control and production execution
Partner with sourcing and production teams to support on-time delivery
Ensure final tech packs and approved samples are complete and ready for pre-production handoff
Lead and mentor direct reports, fostering collaboration and accountability as the team grows
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Technical Design, Apparel Design, or a related field
8+ years of experience in technical apparel design
Formal training in pattern making, garment construction, tailoring, and draping
Strong experience with pattern development, grading, fittings, tech packs, and flat sketching
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and digital pattern tools
Experience with 3D technical design is a plus
Advanced Excel skills for specing and grading
Solid understanding of the apparel development and bulk production process
Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with the ability to mentor and manage team members
