The ideal candidate will be capable of taking “big ideas” and translating them into a full experience and visual reality. The Senior Experiential Designer will support design needs across the entire agency and will report to the Design Director. This position requires strong 2D and 3D design skills, creative vision, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Our team works on a hybrid schedule. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our Brooklyn, NY office (Dumbo) and be available for in-person collaboration at least 3 days per week. This is a full-time position with flexibility for a freelance trial period if desired.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Experiential Designer will be involved in all stages of a project from ideation through installation, leading design and collaborating cross-functionally with full-time and freelance 2D & 3D Designers, Creative Strategists, Producers, and Client Services:
Ideation
Participate in brainstorms, working sessions, and client meetings
Create highly visual mood boards, color and material palettes
Work alongside Client Services & Business Development on RFP's
Develop design briefs and direction for client and internal deliverables
Design Development (3D & 2D)
Build comprehensive creative decks and client presentations, ensuring creative excellence across all deliverables
Create scaled floor plans and consumer flows
Create compelling designs and visualizations of physical environments and experiential touchpoints through 2D and 3D design techniques
Present work to clients
Ensure design is feasible within budget and timelines
Production, Execution, & Installation
Create technical drawings and specifications for custom 3D design elements
Lead conversations with fabrication and print vendors
Review and approve fabrication drawings and print proofs
Lead furniture / decor direction and support the Production team with sourcing
Lead or support 2D teammates on event branding and graphic design deliverables and print mechanicals (e.g., signage, environmental graphics, collateral, swag etc)
Oversee on-site installation, manage fabrication and print vendors, and lead on-site styling and propping
Internal Needs
Support in the creation of agency-wide marketing materials (e.g., website assets, social media, deck templates)
Qualifications:
6+ years of experience as an experiential designer with a proven track record of owning the creative development and execution of experiential projects
Based in NYC Metro area and available to work in-person
Must be a self-starter, have stellar people skills, and thrive in a small, intimate work environment
Excel in developing visually compelling presentations, design concepts, identities, floorplans, 3D renderings (Sketchup), and 2D graphics/visual assets (Adobe Creative Suite)
Experience working within production budgets ranging from 100k-1MM
Comfortable presenting and pitching work directly to clients
