Primary Purpose The Graphic and Visual Designer position is responsible for bringing Sempra's brand to life through compelling visual storytelling across a variety of formats, including print, digital and video. This role supports brand consistency, creative execution, and content development for marketing and communications campaigns. Acts as a key contributor on our creative team, helping shape how we tell stories and connect with audiences. Duties and Responsibilities * Design and produce visual content for internal and external communications including social media, website, email, presentations, brochures, and signage. * Develops multimedia content, including short videos and motion graphics, to support storytelling initiatives. * Contribute to photo and video production efforts, supporting pre-production planning, on-site execution, and post-production needs. * Collaborate in brainstorming sessions and creative concepting for campaigns, contributing ideas and helping bring them to life through storyboards, mockups or creative pitches. * Translate messaging and strategy into clear, engaging visual narratives in collaboration with marketing and communications team members. * Support the development of brand assets, templates, and design systems. * Assist in quality control, proofing, and brand compliance across creative deliverables. * Maintain and organize creative asset library. Education * Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, or related field is required. Experience * 4+ years of experience in a graphic design or multimedia role, ideally within a corporate or agency environment is required. * Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire. Skill and Abilities * Expertise with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro/After Effects). * Experience with Canva, PowerPoint, and other design tools. * Experience with video editing and motion graphics. * Production experience in a variety of media, including print, photography, video and digital. * Strong expertise in design principles, user experiences, typography, layout and composition. * Must possess a strong sense of concept development and brand awareness. * Able to think critically and deliver creative solutions to complex business concepts. * Able to manage multiple projects at once while delivering high-quality, on-brand creative that aligns with strategic goals. * Extensive experience in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint, Word, Excel). * Familiarity with design tools like Figma or Canva. * Experience working with content and project management tools. * Excellent organizational, time and project management skills with a strong attention to detail. * Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively with both technical and creative teams. * Effective written and verbal communication skills required. * Must be able to meet deadlines and be a self-starter. * Able to take direction and work independently, but also able to collaborate with a team. * Sound judgment, creativity and resourcefulness. * Ability to work in a large, complex organization. Partner with the Senior Designer and design team to build seasonal stories rooted in trend, market, and brand insights. Create technical sketches and detailed Illustrator drawings; support designs with prototypes or 3D mockups. Select fabrics and trims that enhance performance, comfort, and brand alignment. Build accurate tech packs with all necessary construction and material details. Collaborate with Product Development and Technical Design through sampling, fittings, and finalization. Adjust seasonal assortments based on feedback and commercial goals. Work with Merchandising on pricing, forecasting, and line architecture. Qualifications Who you are: A bachelor's degree in design (BA, BFA, or BS) or equivalent years of experience preferred. 5+ years of industry experience in women's outerwear with a portfolio that highlights both technical execution and aesthetic leadership. Deep understanding of garment construction, patterning, fit, and functional performance specific to outerwear. Proven ability to take designs from concept through production, including BOMs, fit comments, and vendor communication. Expertise in Adobe Illustrator; proficiency in Photoshop, Indesign, Excel, PowerPoint, and collaborative tools like Teams and Figma. Familiarity with outerwear-specific materials and trims (e.g., 3-layer shells, mechanical stretch fabrics, waterproof zippers, insulated liners). The role will partner closely with merchandising, technical design, product development, and production teams to ensure designs are on trend, customer focused, feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with the brand's sustainability ethos. This role requires a minimum of three days in office, which may change at any time due to business needs. ACCOUNTABILITY: Trend & Market Analysis * Monitor global fashion trends, street style, trade shows, social media, and competitive brands to identify directional themes and market opportunities. * Work with Creative Director and Merchandising to synthesize trend insights into concept presentations (mood boards, color palettes, silhouettes, prints/graphics) for seasonal direction. * Translate macro and micro trend forecasts into actionable design direction tailored to our target customer.
