    Senior Designer Job In Mississippi

**Product Designer** Sage is on a mission to improve care and quality of life for older adults, starting with those residing in senior living facilities. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death among adults over 65. And yet, fall prevention and emergency response systems for older adults are archaic and ineffective. At Sage we've built a more modern way of understanding when older adults need help, including methods for residents to alert caregivers when in need of help, and corresponding software for caregivers to triage response. Our company mission is to create a product that our client counterparts love, and this role is a key part of that objective. Sage is a small, tight team of ambitious, multi-disciplinary entrepreneurs. We are a software-enabled, mission-driven company, and are focused only on the problems that are central to achieving that mission. At Sage, we work hard and fast but also know that to build a truly important company, we need to treat our work as a marathon, and not a sprint. The journey matters. **About the Role** As a Product Designer at Sage, you will lead the design of end-to-end experiences for Senior Living. You'll collaborate with your team to define a clear vision, bring it to life through prototypes for testing, and refine it into high-fidelity designs ready for implementation. Reporting to the Head of Design, you will work closely with cross-functional teams - including product, engineering, analytics, and implementation. ****Some examples of the work you'll be doing on any given day include:**** - **User-Centered Design & Research** * You'll lead the effort in defining design research initiatives related to your product area and seeing them through - from defining your research goals and creating an interview guide, to synthesizing your learnings and applying those to design solutions. * You'll develop design tools (like journey maps and personas) to guide the team through a user-centered design process. - **UI/UX Design** * You'll be responsible for the full product development design process including, sketching, wireframing, prototyping and high fidelity designs. * You'll ensure designs are accessible, intuitive and are aligned with our existing design system patterns, where appropriate. * You'll collaborate with developers to ensure your designs are implemented correctly and maintain the intended user experience. * You have a high bar for craft and attention to detail. * You'll give and solicit feedback from other designers to continually raise our bar for quality. - **Collaboration & Communication** * You'll work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define product requirements and features. * You'll participate in planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, providing design input throughout the product development lifecycle. * You'll communicate design rationale and user research insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. ****Requirements**** **Minimum Qualifications** * 2+ years of product design experience * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Strong presentation and storytelling skills * Proficient in Figma * Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality designs and problem solving ability * Excited to work in a startup environment and take on multiple challenges, often simultaneously. * Willing and able to travel domestically for customer visits. **Preferred Qualifications** * A degree in HCI, Design, or a related field * Experience in a startup environment. **Benefits and Pay** Our headquarters are located in New York City's Union Square. We believe in cross team collaboration. We think good ideas can come from anyone, and we've designed our processes to encourage participation from all. While we take our mission seriously, we don't take ourselves too seriously. We like to host offsites, outings, and team meals where we can connect as people, not just as colleagues. We offer office lunch and a fully stocked snack bar. While we are an in office culture, we allow up to 2 remote days per week. Our benefits package for employees includes competitive base compensation along with stock options. The expected annual salary range for this role is $100,000-$130,000 USD, depending upon the job level, which will depend on your level of expertise, your experience, and your qualifications. We also provide fully-paid health and dental insurance coverage for all of our employees, along with other health benefits including vision insurance, membership to premium primary and urgent care, and online medical health providers. We also have a take as you need time off policy, in addition to 7 paid holidays and a company wide winter break during the holidays. **EEO Statement** Sage is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We prohibit discrimination and harassment of any kind based on race, color, sex, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, genetic information, pregnancy, or any other protected characteristic as outlined by federal, state, or local laws. This policy applies to all employment practices within our organization, including hiring, recruiting, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, leave of absence, compensation, benefits, training, and apprenticeship. Sage makes hiring decisions based solely on qualifications, merit, and business needs at the time. If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows: A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability. A "recently separated veteran" means any veteran during the three-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval, or air service. We value versatile, "full stack" Product Designers that own the holistic user experience for their product or service. Our Designers are researchers, service designers, brand strategists, and interface designers, all in one. Each project will require a different blend of skills depending on client needs. Depending on customer needs, the role could be a mixture of design product leadership and design people leadership. As a product leader, a Staff Product Designer may help contribute to greater design consistency across products in a software portfolio, scale an organization's research operations, and evaluate the user experience across an ecosystem of processes to define project intake and portfolio strategy. On the people and practice-focused side, a Staff Product Designer may coach and mentor other designers, create onboarding programs, and cultivate a learning environment where designers grow and thrive in their practices. **Qualifications** * 10+ years experience in a product design, UX, or related field. * Experience managing a team. * Experience working with clients or stakeholders in a consulting role. * Experience coaching & mentoring others in lean, agile and user-centric design practices. * Bring deep experience in User Research and Service Design. * Strong facilitation skills. * Experience leading product design from research through implementation. * Experience designing different applications for different use cases (consumer facing to internal tools). * Experience using modern design systems and frameworks (eg. iOS, Android, Bootstrap, Material Design, Tailwind, USWDS, etc.) * Active leader in a design community. * Ability to travel up to 20%. * Currently holds a security clearance. **Preferred Qualifications** * Have experience coaching design leaders in user-centered design practices through “pairing” enablement. * A toolbox of various talks and workshops you've led to improve design practices in an organization. * Knowledge of front-end development and CSS * Experience working on cross functional software teams * Experience with DoD, especially at a DoD "Software Factory." **Salary** The annual salary range for this role as it is posted is $156,696.12 to $235,044.18 regardless of final candidate location within the United States.
