What You'll Be Doing
Job Scope: Generally responsible for performing all aspects for complete design of electrical/instrumentation assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. This level is expected to assist in the design of larger and more complex electrical/instrumentation assignments. This work will be performed under minimal supervision in Meraux, LA.
Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards.
Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team.
Producing installation details, motor control center single lines, electric room layouts, motor control elementaries, connection diagrams, cable schedules, control panel layouts and grounding, lighting, power and instrumentation plans under minimal supervision.
Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.
Providing on-site assistance during startup.
Ideal Background
Education: Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting is required.
Experience: Requires 10+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with the current version of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Ability to perform lighting level calculations.
Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for both lighting and power applications.
Ability to perform voltage drop calculations.
Ability to route conduit and cable tray.
Ability to calculate tray and conduit fill.
Ability to determine motor control center loading.
Familiarity with specifications and installation details of construction bulk materials and equipment.
Ability to create accurate electrical installation documents from the information found on vendor equipment drawings.

Proficient in the use of 2D AutoCAD, SPI, and Microstation. 3D AutoCAD desirable.

What You'll Be Doing:
We are seeking a Motion Graphics Associate to join our in-house production team to assist with building animation and graphics packages for all home games!
Conceptualize, design and build graphics and animation packages for in-arena video and LED presentation
Assist Pelicans and Saints video production department with headshots and open video creation
Update features and packages as necessary throughout the season (Next Home Game, Item of the Game, etc.)
Stay on top of trends and ideas within motion graphics/animation industry
Work with other departments to address video production needs, as time allows
Participate as a member of Pelicans and Saints In-Arena Video Production on game nights

* Shorten Design Lead Time
* Increase library of fully modeled products
* Support production with complete design packets
* Assist in the building and fabrication of working prototypes of new products.
* Support production in the building and fabrication of your projects, as needed. This includes following and tracking your project through the production process.
* Establish and coordinate the activities to follow the product from design through production including timelines, product component procurement, and material selection.
* Work with production personnel to improve current designs. Test and proof improvements to assure expected goals were accomplished and no exposures were created.
* Assist with troubleshooting and solving problems that occur on the production floor.
* Maintain project files and resource materials such as drawings, instruction manuals, test data, design criteria and specifications within company guidelines.
* Confer with workers in other departments such as sales, marketing, engineering and administration to provide technical information and implementation of operating procedures and to resolve system malfunctions.
* Assist with or oversee creation of the manufacturing Bill of Material to prepare new or redesigned products for production.
* Assist in generating detail specifications of the individual components of the new design and replacement components in end of life and in cost reductions projects.
Qualification Requirements:
* Associate's degree or higher in CAD, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
* 2+ years of related experience in AutoCAD required. Relevant certifications (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) are a plus.
* Experience with sheet metal in a manufacturing and/or HVACR environment is preferred.
* Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem, as well as to prevent potential problems.
* Innovative mindset, as to produce a new concept or idea to achieve a desired custom design.
* High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
* Ability to multi-task, while meeting project deadlines.
* Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
* Software programming skills and experience (e.g., CNC programming) are a plus.
* Energetic, positive work ethic
* Possess effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

The Electrical Designer's role supports clients and contractors with factory testing, construction, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities for medium and low voltage electrical power distribution equipment and process instrumentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create electrical installation details, one-line diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, area classification, and grounding.
Size and specify electrical equipment including raceways, fittings, panels, conductors, terminations, etc.
Walk down a site, collecting all necessary information to perform design work.
Troubleshoot and commission medium voltage electrical equipment.
Collaborate with a design team of engineers and drafters to produce a complete drawing installation package.
